Case Study: East Minico
East Minico would like a total $1,500 to provide incentives for students to come to school. East would like to reward grade levels for having good attendance, grades, and behavior. Our idea is that the grade level with the best attendance percentage would earn a point each week. After each trimester, students in the grade level with the most points will earn a reward party. The money ($500 per trimester) would go towards some sort of treat (E.g. ice cream, pizza, pop, etc.) and to buy rewards (such as gift cards or certificates) for students in drawing. Students would be added to the drawing based on their attendance that trimester.

The town of Shinnston, West Virginia is a former coal town located in Harrison County, near the West Fork River. In 1778 Levi Shinn constructed his log home along what is now Route 19, today it is the oldest standing structure in North Central West Virginia (Wikipedia, 2016). The Shinnston Historical Association maintains it and it is open for tours by the general public. In 1815, the town was laid out with three streets, running parallel with the river, and with four crossing streets running at right angles to them. The town was incorporated in 1852 as Shinn's Town by an act of the Virginia legislature, as West Virginia did not yet exist as an independent state. In Shinnstons’ early years, it saw the development of mercantile interests, wagon…

I just wanted to contact you about an idea I had for Project10. I was thinking that our group could sell sushi! I would like people to preorder them similar to the pizza on pink stumps day where people were given a sheet a week or so prior to it happening and could fill the form in with what flavour they wanted and how many they would want. Then would give it to students services with the money enclosed in a small bag or envelope by a certain date and pick it up from me and the rest of the students in my group one lunchtime. My mum knows an owner of a sushi company who is willing to give us a large amount of sushi rolls for cheap and my mum has offered to pick it up and drop it off at school. If you could let me know if this can go ahead that…

To continually reinforce the positive behaviour in a classroom environment, it would be pleasing to the individuals to receive some form of continuous reward. For example, a point system reward, or star awards for good behaviour. The points could be totalled to see which individual or group received the most points at the end of term or year, which could then be backed up with a trophy or certificate of achievement.…

Once she had established who was in need, she wanted to address the systems that were already in place. She started working with existing services and emergency housing providers for youth to help them create a better environment for the youths at these centers. A lot of LGBTQ youths were either not allowed in, or were disrespected, harassed, or even assaulted when they sought help at these shelters. She invited the heads of these services to attend workshops to address these issues. Unfortunately private religions shelters were not required to go, which a majority of the shelters in Memphis are religious ones. However the ones that do receive federal funding came and are involved in ongoing relationship and conversations across these different agencies. She offered these agencies training, resources, role play scenarios, and evaluations to help them see how a young person coming into their shelters is going to experience it and how to address their unique set of needs. These workshops also raised awareness of OUT Memphis, as resource of…

One of the major drawbacks of the prestigious National Honor Society at my school is its system for accounting service points, required for every semester. It is very disorganized, and there is no way for students to keep track of their points, so many worthy members get probations or dismissed. So in my junior year, I decided to talk to the sponsor. I suggested that we make an official spreadsheet, accessible to every member, that has the names of each of the members of the club, and all the point opportunities presented throughout the year. I will make that spreadsheet and will update points at the end of every week. My sponsor really liked this idea. Immediately, the complaints from my peers ceased. The members were able to keep track of…

Specifically undertaking budget advocacy efforts to increase the budgeted funds allotted in the upcoming fiscal year to be administered by the unit-based council leaders for reward to those who engage in unit projects. For example, being able to allot funds to send an engaged team member to a requested conference. A SMART goal that directly addresses this recommendation is the target of completing two focused nursing department specific budget training courses by the second week of March. This goal is realistic and attainable if I take the primary action to submit my electronic registration for the courses by March 1st. This would allow for requisite knowledge and budgeted funds to promote a healthy contingent rewards system that involved the unit based council…
