It provides inpatient and outpatient services to the close-knit community that resides within the forested and lakeside town the facility is nestled in. Although it is known for its great track record for quality and is held in high regard by the surrounding community, it has steadily experienced financial losses from 2006 through 2009. These losses can be attributed to factors both internal and external to the facility itself.…
Grady Memorial Hospital frequently referred to as Grady Hospital or simply Grady, is the largest hospital in the state of Georgia and is the public hospital for the city of Atlanta. Historical segregation of its hospital units meant that it was also called "The Gradys," a name that still surfaces among elderly Atlanta residents, especially African Americans. Grady is a Level I trauma center. Trauma is any life-threatening occurrence, either accidental or intentional that causes injuries. The leading causes of trauma are motor vehicle accidents, falls, and assaults. Located downtown near the campus of Georgia State University, Grady is considered to be one of the premier public hospitals in the Southern United States. Grady Hospital is named for Henry W. Grady, an Atlanta Constitution journalist and later owner who became a major force in Georgia politics, and advocated for a public city hospital. Grady is now the flagship of the Grady Health System (Grady, 2009). Marketing plays an important role at Grady Memorial Hospital. South Carolina is a member of the interstate nurse licensure compact (National Council of State Board of Nursing, 2017). Being a member of the interstate nurse licensure compact, will allow the nurse more flexibility to practice in the different states within the compact state. The nurse can respond to a state of emergency located in the compact state. For example, with the most recent catastrophic event that occurred in Texas with the hurricane Harvey. The local nurses were over worked and desperately needed relief from the long hours in response to hurricane Harvey. Since Texas is a member of the interstate nurse license compact, this allowed a quicker response to the catastrophic event and the nurses where able to find relief from their duties quickly. If Texas was not a member of the interstate nurse licensure compact, with the entire state of Texas being considered a state of emergency, and there would have been a delay with the nurses in the state of Texas with relief from their duties.…

There are many factors fused together that affect the health of communities and individuals. Whether individuals are healthy or not, is determined by their environment and circumstances. These factors include where we live, the condition of our genetics, environment, our education and income level, and our relationships with family and friends all have considerable impacts on health, considered that the more widely known factors such as availability and use of health care services often have less of an influence( World Health Organization (2010).…
From these chapter I have gain the knowledge of know, the delivery of health traditionally evolved around the individual relationship between the provider and patient/consumer. The payment was either provided by a health insurance company or paid out of pocket by the consumer. This fee-for-service system or indemnity plan increased the cost of healthcare because there were no controls on how much to charge for the providers service. As healthcare costs continued to spiral out of control throughout the decades, more experiments with contract practice and prepaid service occurred randomly across the U.S. healthcare system (Shi & Singh, 2008)…
Though all of Creon’s decisions caused many deaths to happen and much sadness to come to him he still gets some sympathy. Creon says: “Nothing you say can touch me more. – My own blind has throught me from darkness to finish darkness -… I was the fool, not you: and you died for me” (Exodos, line 95). This shows that he knows he was a “fool” and regrets what he has done. It also shows that he is unhappy about the way he handled the situation. A person could show sympathy, in that all he feels is “darkness”, and anyone who has experienced loss understands this pain and suffering that he is going through. Creon says: “Lead me away. – I have been rash and foolish – I have killed my son and my wife. – I look for comfort; my comfort lies here dead.…
In Act 3 scene 5 Romeo and Juliet have just woken up. Romeo says he must leave but Juliet doesn't want him to go: "Thou need'st not to be gone." Shakespeare coveys a loving and caring atmosphere through his use of language in this scene: "believe me, love, it was the nightingale." Capulet decides Juliet will get married to Paris in three days time. It is important this is revealed before the scene as it creates dramatic irony because the audience knows such a significant detail of the play, yet Juliet doesn't, even though it's her getting married. Shakespeare uses the contrast between love and hate to add tension to the scene, like when Capulet clashes with a distraught Juliet after she refuses to marry Paris.…
First, Mr. Trosack is a newly diagnosed diabetic. He was prescribed Glucophage to help control his blood sugar and has demonstrated that he is able to perform his own blood glucose check using a glucometer. He has verbalized that he is not happy about having to take the “darn” medications and his family seems to be in denial about his diabetes. They believe that diet alone will control his blood sugar. Mr. Trosack’s unhappiness about taking medication and his family’s lack of concern about continuing the medication will put Mr. Trosack at risk for non-compliance with his medication regimen. It is important that Mr. Trosack receive ongoing education about controlling his diabetes including proper diet and taking his medications at specific times. This also needs to be addressed with his family so they are supportive in providing a healthy atmosphere for Mr. Trosack.…
