Terrible, isn’t it? But this is normal to see in developing countries. This six year old girl’s brother is probably in a rundown school, learning basic reading and math. Her family needs her to fetch food and water for them, and working long, tiring hours sewing leather for a football or shelling walnuts. Why? To pay the fee of her brothers education. It costs a lot for them. They don’t know that if they had her go to school, she could grow to be a strong, powerful woman with a good job such as a doctor, teacher, or lawyer. Then she
But if they went to school, they could get a good job and support their family and themselves. According to the article Girls Education, The Facts, says in Brazil, 37% of women with less than a primary education find work. That number rises to 50% if they have a primary education, and 60% with a secondary education. The better education you have, the more likely you are to get a job, and with a job, you can get your basic needs.

Furthermore, education narrows pay gaps between men and women. It’s likely you heard of the wage gap, and it’s even worse in third-world countries. Based on the same article, it states, “in Pakistan, women with a primary education earn 51% of what men earn. With a secondary education, they earn 70% of what men earn. In Jordan, women with a primary education earn 53% of what men earn. With a secondary education, they earn 67% of what men earn.” The truth is shocking, yes, but if they are more educated they can earn more money, and afford their kids to go to
She earns more money in the long run by just going to school! In fact, an extra year of secondary school can increase her earnings by 15 to 25 percent. So girls, go to school!

Better In The Long Run First, there are huge benefits of getting an education. It can also inspire other women to do the same. Women who recieve an education are more likely to become entrepreneurs, people that start businesses, invest in their communities, and empower other women. Just like how one match can start an inferno, one women can change the world.

Another case in point is if all children went to school, there would be less child marriages. From the article by Voices Of Youth, if all girls had a primary education, there would be 14% less child marriages. If all girls had a secondary education, there would be two-thirds fewer child marriages. This stops the huge population boom, which would help the world save resources.

In addition, as women become more educated, they are less likely to support militancy than similarly educated men. Lots of women understand violence does not do much other than hurt people, and strike fear throughout a country.
