Greif is defined as a deep mental anguish, as that arising from bereavement or being left alone, and is a normal response to loss (Matzo & Sherman, 2010). Marilyn Andrews’s grief is made up of different circumstances that have happen in a short span of her life. The first is the passing of her father to lung cancer. Marilyn and her father did not have a relationship with each other for twenty-seven years and his death left her with a lot of mixed feelings, which included hurt and anger. The second incident that occurred in her life was the passing of one of her sons, Jacob to a head- on collision with a drunk driver. No parent wants to bury their child and still battling the death of her father along with this added to her grieving history. “Parents feel responsible for their child’s health, well-being, and safety and may experience survivor guilt, powerlessness, and loss of religious faith (Matzo & Sherman 2010). Greif can also affect the individual’s ability to function temporarily. The passing of her son Jacob had an effect on her husband John and son Philip. Further information: Candy is an old handyman, aging and has only one hand most probably because of an accident. With only one hand he would most probably not be very useful around the ranch. As he has aged his dog has aged also once an impressive sheep herder and now a worn out dog. Candy seems like a friendly character that doesn't like getting into trouble and understands the ranch very well, meaning he has been there for quite a while. From what he says he doesn't seem too happy in the ranch and probably has hopes of owning a farm like George and Lennie.…

In my life it seems that one person always gave me great advice my grandfather lived a long time and was wise. Grandpa was the go to person for when I have a life issue. My grandfather is a very wise man. He has learned lessons from life he served in Korea and Vietnam. He would always tells us grandkids and great grandkids that everything happens for a reason; a reason to learn from. My grandfather’s name is Robert and he lived a very interesting life he served in the Army for a long time I think it was something like 30 years. Grandpa always had a reason behind everything he did. He always helped me by talking through my problems with a logical and reasoning view. Grandpa has always helped me to look at both sides of a problem and the possibilities of outcomes and apply things that I already know to the situation before making a decision. Grandpa always has listened to what I have to say and he isn’t against taking advice from me. He always says that he values my input and he will store it in his knowledge bank for future reference. Grandpa is very humorous along with being logical, he always seems to be able to make light of most situations and can help me look at things from a humorous side and if I end up making a bad decision. (Normally, because I didn’t go to grandpa about it before hand.) The best advice I have ever gotten from my grandfather is, when you are making a decision think about 6 months from now, or even 6 years, what is the outcome from both sides; and can you learn from your choice either way? Throughout his years grandpa has always held a positive mind frame and laced life with humor, he always asks what I learned even if I faced a consequence. I believe that my grandfather is one of the wisest men I will ever know. Grandpa always learns and uses past knowledge before making a decision. Grandpa always had been there it help me with his wisdom and knowledge of life’s great lessons. I joined the army 10 years…
My mother and father were busy at work, but she always managed to find time to take care of my sister, who was only 3 and ½ years old when they moved to America. It was very tiring for Li, it was even more stressful when she was pregnant with me, she still had to continue working 10 hours a day. Giving birth to me was probably the most painful struggle for her, she went into critical condition due to a c-section. She had loss and a lot of blood, yet, 2 weeks later, she got back on her feet and continued to do her usual. Even after all of that, my mother was still…
