In your commentary, "Want to Get Into College? Learn to Fail" you show the importance of failure and imperfection. You explained how a student looked forward to the possibility of failure. You feel it is important to inform not only students but parents of those students and other teachers that failure is a necessary part to personal growth and development. You say how finding imperfection in college applications is similar to finding a needle in a haystack. You also explain to us that you get the most excited when you read applications that seem real. You wants students and parents of students to know that everyone fails and we shouldn't be afraid of imperfection as it is a key piece to growing up and experiencing the real world.…
She worked really hard in all of her classes, but especially her nursing classes because she knew that the reward would pay off. Studying every time she could, she thought that she would have a chance at getting into the program. All of her hard work paid off and her GPA was really good, but most likely not good enough to get into Oshkosh’s nursing program the first semester she applied. She now faced a new problem; trying to figure out the next step in her college career. Many advisors had always told her to think of a plan B, but she never thought about it in the depth that people had wanted her to- she didn’t think that a plan B was even in the future. Although Oshkosh is a great school, there are other schools that would be a good fit as well. These schools have good programs that are easier to get into and she could go right when she applied. Another problem for Jensen was that her general education classes were complete so it wouldn’t make sense to stay at Oshkosh for another semester and take filler classes, as that would be a waste of time and money. Jensen knew what the next step would be and was feeling confident about it. She would go to a different school if Oshkosh didn’t accept her on the first…

There has been immense amounts of debate recently on whether or not the college admission process is a fair. Many people have offered solutions on trying to reduce the amount of stress high school students are feeling with the admission process. Dr. Michelle Hernandez has a possible solution that focuses more on educating students and not gaming admissions. This solution comprises different ways to apply to college, eliminating non-binding admissions, and eliminating major tests like ACT and SAT. Although these would mark big changes it could be an answer to high school burnout, slanted admissions, and bringing the attention back on educating the students.…
Monitoring my own understanding of a subject should just about ensure adequate grades to achieve my goal. However, should my grades begin to slip I will take further steps and seek help from my support group in my personal life and at school. This goal meaningfully resonates with me on many levels. The main reason I went to this level of planning is to prove to myself my ability to overcome adversity. This is supported by a desire to surpass my wife’s achievements in academia, which set the bar high at a 3.96 GPA for her Associate of Arts…

I also reccommed she speak to her parents because they could be used as a support system for her. We will review are list and process the conversation she had with her parents during the next…
