Eighty-nine New Denmark Colliery employees are among the first in the industry to have completed a series of courses devised and funded by the Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA).
The sector education and training authority is responsible for the administration of skills development programmes for the mining and minerals sector, and launched the programme to provide mineworkers with qualifications that are recognised across the sector.
