Case Study Of Colin's False Incident

He had worked for a year when he experienced a work injury. Colin, while put boxes away, had fallen off his standing stool and had injured his back, neck, and suffered a minor concussion. While getting medical treatment and therapy, he had been laid off of his job leaving him worried about what he was going do and how he was going to survive.

Colin had decided it was time for him to go back to college and get his masters in a science. While studying at a university he had made the dean’s list three times and had seemed just like a normal student looking forward in his life.

It all changed when he had started having angry outbursts and accused teachers and students of verbal abuse. Colin made claims that students mistreated him in the library and had called him racial slurs and that the librarian had also spat slurs at him as well. These accusations were dismissed after further investigation proving them to be false. Days after these incidents Ferguson had yet another angry outburst towards a teacher. This was not the last time that teachers had filed complaints against him. Due to disciplinary issues Colin was transferred to Adelphi University where he also had disciplinary issues. Teachers at this university reported aggression and over enthusiastic about certain topics especially
those pertaining to race. Colin was eventually suspended from all schools and was restrained from even entering a college campus.

Ferguson was in dismay, he didn’t know what he was going to do with his life now. He was unemployed and didn’t have a degree to fall back on. He began to the development of a mental disorder, PPD (Paranoid Personality Disorder).

PPD is when a person suspect strangers, and even people they know, of planning to harm or exploit them when there is no good evidence to support this belief.
As a result of their constant concern about the lack of trustworthiness of others, patients with this disorder often have few intimate friends or close human contacts. They do not fit in and they do not make good "team players." Interactions with others are characterized by wariness and not infrequently by hostility. If they marry or become attached to someone, the relationship is often characterized by pathological jealousy and attempts to control their partner. They often assume their sexual partner is "cheating" on
them.

He began researching his ex wife and had learned about her new house, new life, and new boyfriend. After finding out everything possible, he began to stalk her and one report had said that Colin Ferguson had pried open Ms. Warren’s car trunk and had took everything out, authorities couldn’t get a motive or figure out what he was looking for. Ms. Warren had filed a restraining order claiming that he was “crazy and demented”.
Months later he had been arrested on harassment charges and resisting arrest. Ferguson had reportedly began screaming at a female passenger when she had asked if he could move over a bit. He had been yelling about how ungrateful she was and he had pressed his leg and arm against her to give her even less room. When the authorities had arrived Ferguson had ran from them calling out to a group of african americans exclaiming “Brothers, come help me!”.
