Case Study Of Mr. Juan Santana-Cortez
Mr. Cregger is a full-time employee of the company which manufactures wooden posts for staircases. His supervises approximate 21 employees. He has one shop foreman, Mr. Mario Urias who reports directly to him for personnel issues involving work-related injuries.

Claimant Position Information:
Mr. Cregger confirmed that the claimant, Mr. Juan Santana-Cortez was employed full time with the company on January 22, 2015, when he was hired as a Shop Helper. He claimed that Mr. Cortez was a problematic employee because he had demonstrated a rebellious attitude towards management, by not doing what told to do. However, from what he knows of Mr. Cortez, is that he did not have any problems or issues with his coworkers whom he worked with inside the manufacturing plant.

Mr. Cregger said Mr. Cortez had a track record of several recorded absenteeism’s, as well as punctuality issues when Mr. Cortez would not show for work consecutively every Monday because he was to be hung over from the weekend from drinking excessively. Cregger stated throughout Mr. Cortez’s employment, Mr. Cortez requested to be removed from the Gang Rib Machine to the Sanding Area, where he would sit and be off from his feet; sanding pieces of wood by hand with sandpaper. He claimed that Mr. Cortez's request was granted because Mr. Cortez would complain that he was experiencing pain from having gout to one of his feet. Mr. Cregger does not recall which foot that Mr. Cortez would complain about the chronic pain that Mr. Cortez would occasionally complain about throughout the week. Each time that Mr. Cortez would complain about his gout, he tried to accommodate Mr. Cortez, by sending him to the sanding department. After getting bored sanding, Mr. Cortez would ask to be transferred back to work at the Gang Rib Machine department. He did not have the specific dates as to when Mr. Cortez had been assigned back and forth to both
