Perimeter Protection Plan: Case Study
Introduction
On a normal sunny day in Jefferson County Colorado April 20th, 1999 twelve students were brutally murdered, additionally 24 were taken to area hospitals with life threatening injuries. The two students that carefully planned and initiated the attacks were believed to be a part of a devil worshiping camaraderie. A total of 99 explosive devices were found rigged in cars and throughout the school. The motive of the school shootings were unclear but this unprecedented event shook the nation and changed the high school security check in procedures nationwide. (Encyclopedia Britannica", 2013). The demand for security within high schools and college campuses continued to elevate across the nation. Principles began scrambling and now there was a need for security chief’s and security director’s at all major schools and college campuses and apartment complexes. The term risk can be in conjunction with anything, the term is the variations between actual and expected results. For example a clothing store’s loss prevention team will project a revenue scale, and compare it to the risks associated with the theft of merchandise. Risk assumes the threat for an unwanted occurrences. (Broder & Tucker, 2012). Regarding the specified location Palm Beach Marina Cove (PBMC) and the expansion into a two building condominium complex. A risk assessment (figure a.) will be included along with a perimeter protection plan to include a total cost breakdown. (figure b.) Based on the budget, and proposal of contractual security. (figure c.) Will provide at compressive breakdown of the job duties and the reason twenty four hour contractual security
