Intel has made a commitment to purchase REC Certificates for all its US Energy Use. REC represents economic rights to the production of renewable electricity generation. REC helps buyers in procuring renewable power across a diverse region.
Since 2013, Intel has been purchasing REC’s to hedge 100% of all its United States Electricity Usage. Intel has also committed to reduce its Greenhouse Gas (GHG) by 10% per unit from its 2010 levels in it Sustainability Roadmap.

“Conflict-Free” Minerals mean minerals which are mined in a responsible manner by legal entities and not controlled by armed groups as in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). This will make sure that armed groups are starved of economic resources which will result in reduction of violence. Women on an average have accounted for 25%-28% of the total workforce for Intel. Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has studied as to how gender equality could impact the economic growth and labour force of the G20 countries.
