The unemployment rates in the area are high and that tells us that it has been difficult for individuals finding jobs. This factor is going to benefit Tanglewood because there should be plenty of qualified candidates available. 2. Tanglewood should use for Targeted Recruitment. The best targets for Tanglewood are Key KSAO shortages, reward seekers, and workforce diversity gaps. Recruitment methods: Kiosk- more of a targeted approach. Only individuals who really want to work for the company will come into the store to fill out application. Employee Referral- Existing employees refer individuals who are a very good potential person/organizational fit. Newspaper Advertisements- Open, very classic way to recruit. Everyone looks for jobs there. Career Fairs- Targeted, looking for certain types of qualifications and KSAOs.…

In any organization it is crucial to make the correct choice between open and targeted recruitment because it dictates recruiting methods and sources. I believe that Tanglewood would definitely have an open recruitment approach. Their qualifications are broad and allow anyone to apply for an opening. The media can be considered an open recruitment because it is received by a large amount of people and allows any applicant to apply. The kiosks would also be because it is not segmenting the candidates in any way. Having a targeted recruitment would not be a good choice because Tanglewood is not specific in what they are looking for. By having an open form of recruitment it allows for a larger pool of applicants and could bring more diversity into the workplace. Another positive…

Continue to cultivate an environment where each department manager has the freedom to use distinct methods for running their departments in coordination with the employees they supervise. This allows for the development of talents in current employees and may inspire them to move higher in the organization. Tanglewood is currently at a place, size wise, where either outsourcing or hiring yourself could be beneficial. I would recommend a mixture of both. For new, entry level employee’s I would outsource. A vendor may be able to find more candidates in the event of a staff shortage. Allowing a vendor to fill entry level positions frees up the Human Resource department for interviewing possible candidates for higher vacancies, to which I would utilize internal hiring practices. Keeping a core workforce allows the employees the sense that they themselves are essential in delivering quality customer service to the customers.…

The “target” for recruiting efforts considering the retail business and customer service job should be anyone willing to work, with ability and eligibility to work. Diversity should be focused on. The methods they use for recruiting they use are media, referrals, kiosk, state job services and recruiting agencies for customer service job are all “open” recruiting methods. Due to the high employee turnover they have to consistently hire employees and open recruiting method best serves the requirement. It ensures that a diverse set of applicants apply because it doesn’t require a pre-entry qualification and serves the purpose of high volume application. The only method that is minimally targeted is the employment agency that requires qualified or trained customer service applicants to apply for the position.…

In the present time, Organization’s most important assets are its people i.e. Employees. These employees are the foundation on which the organization stands strong; without the human power to perform certain tasks, to produce, to operate, to analyze, etc no organization can live. Although the modern technologies have made a lot things much easier but nothing can replace the significance of the Human Resources. Therefore, Hiring is a very challenging, time consuming and costly function of the company. But what’s even harder – especially in today’s chaotic economic situation is, “Making the right Hire”.…

For those who are hiring managers the issue of whether to recruit/promote from within (internal recruiting) will likely be a familiar one. There are numerous advantages, including development of “career ladders” that help with employee retention. Simply put, a career ladder is one that plans and enables advancement up the levels of an organization. Internal recruiting can also help organizations preserve and protect critical knowledge, values, and practices. Transitions can be smoother, with less negative impact on productivity. One thing organizations can and should do when wishing to leverage internal talent is to inventory the knowledge,…
