Firms in a given industry, according to porter, may acquire a competitive advantage that support them in international markets due to the nature of demand in their home countries and consequently the way the aim to provide required goods and services against their competitors. in Bahraini economy, retail banking and telecom companies provide the most visible example of competitiveness over diverse demands of a large market segment. in Bahrain industry sector large companies borrows heavily from government intuitions structures with their hierarchical nature and bureaucratic manpower. However, most of firms in industrial sector are more disciplined in manpower distribution than public intuitions. Smaller businesses in the construction sector for example tend to be family run.
