Q: What does the job consist of? A: Managing the 35 to 40 employees, coordinating maintenance of the building, finances, and local marketing plans. They recently remodeled the Blackfoot Wendy’s and he was involved in choosing the plan and also making a plan to keep running the drive thru during the remodel. A: People skills are very important. As general manager I need to be friendly, outgoing, and just an overall good people person everyday. Whether it be to our customers or employees the business depends on these people skills to have the success it has. Q: How do you advance or get promoted in this type of work? A: The success of the business depends on what I do so I can advance and make more the more success the Blackfoot Wendy’s has. Eventually I would like to work my way up to owner of the franchise. Q: Knowing what you do now, would you approach this career (or job) in the same way? If not, what would you do differently, and why? A: Yes, I would probably get a Business Management degree. If I had known I would probably have opened my own business. I learned a lot in this interview. I learned that this type of career doesn’t require a business degree like I had previously thought. I also learned a lot about franchises and the difference between a franchise and a corporate company. It is definitely something that will help me in the future and in planning my future
