Essay #4: Casual Analysis
Reasons Student Drop College Courses In college several students drop college courses for many different reasons. But whoever said that college would be easy and you can just skate through it? Students typically find out the hard way. There’re several different contributing factors that lead students into lack of success, but being irresponsible is the biggest one. But whatever the situation is, dropping a class in college counts as a loss in the life of college students. Life situations and other outside demands can push students to drop out of courses. Such as, unexpected life situation can occur that are such a serious matter and forces students to come home. Students, who become ill or have a family member whose became ill, financial problems, can all contribute to a student dropping courses or leaving the college institution for the time being. Having a blind eye and low expectation of academic demand is one of many reasons student drop courses. This means, once students get settled into their schedule, they realize that despite their new found independence, the responsibility that comes along with it, isn’t what its crapped up to be. Leading them to feel discouraged and burnt-out and then sooner than later they quit, despite whether or not their grades were lacking. Finding love during college is very typical. But it can have its pros and cons. I say this because, when you’re in love you can be successful or you can become discouraged because of a heart break, this easily takes the students mind away from academics. This can cause you to become the awkward passer-by on campus, the shared classes, the same group of friends, the hurtful memories, can be enough for one of the two to pack their bags. Also, being a “Party Animal” during college can causes students to drop courses because balancing the social life and academics seem to be a very tough task for students. The problem is too much of one, can destroy the other. Students that party a lot tries to fit in, two main parts of this reason are friends and pleasure. Students who drink, stay up late, constantly going out to parties, blow off classes to the point they get so far behind and can’t catch up. This problem can result in expulsion, their financial aid rewards (if they’re approved) and/or the students discontinuation to college. Another reason students drop courses are because they become homesick. Being alone in college, not having any family around, and just being the comfort of your own home can discourage students. Whether it’s an abandoned relationship at home, the weather in their hometown, or the coziness of their childhood bedroom, can result in students to feel overwhelmed with grief and they cannot finish their studies off at college. With the exception of situations that just pounce onto your lap, completely out of students hand, everything that I’ve just told you is preventable. All you have to do is be patient. Have a mindset that makes you strive for success in college. But I strongly suggest students to just be responsible and have realistic expectations their first year of college. Just be an adult and invest well in your future.
