Casual Dress Shirt Analysis
Fellow Asian American here. I would go for casual dress shirts, cropped trousers, and loafers in order to spice things up. Another combination that works quite well are tucked in t-shirts / turtlenecks, blazers, cropped trousers, and loafers. On colder days, an overcoat, trousers, and oxfords / derbies are fantastic combinations to go with a dress shirt or turtleneck and blazer underneath.

While furthering my research on Polo Ralph Lauren’s business decisions regarding sweatshops and their workers, I found an article written by Robert J.S. Ross, a professor in Sociology at Clark University. The article entitled, “Hey, Ralph Lauren, sweatshops aren’t chic,” was featured in the Los Angeles Times and employs an appeal to pathos by disclosing the reprehensible working conditions that sweatshop workers endure everyday in factories throughout China to provide products for Polo Ralph Lauren. While discussing these working conditions he states, “unofficially, they are often paid less than the official minimum, which varies by province and city. Days off are rare, despite laws that entitle them to one day off a week” (Ross). Ross essentially…

Well the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory was owned by Max Blanck and Isaac Harris. This factory was located in Manhattan, New York. It was a sweatshop that employed young and old immigrant women who needed money to provide for their families and to quote from the video they needed an “economic security”. This sweat shop worked women in cramped places on sewing machines for fourteen hours a day only making two dollars. Now most of these immigrants were teens and the youngest one being fourteen. This factory was well known for the “shirtwaist” clothing. The owners were strict and not very trusting so not only did they check every employees bag on the way out, but out of the two main exits one always remained locked. On October 4th 1909 many workers…

For this extra credit assignment I chose to watch an airing of ESPN SportCenter. The issue which I thought to be a major social problem regarding sport that was addressed in this show was the new found dress code implemented into the NBA that all of the players were to follow. This issue would not be considered so highly controversial if it had simply stated that players wear "business casual" attire when entering and leaving the stadium and when they are engaged in team or league business. The problem came when the dress code included no wearing of medallions, headphones, sunglasses (indoors) and other attire and accessories that a vast number of African American players on teams had been wearing since they began playing in the NBA. This is not to say that Whites did not also enjoy these "luxuries" but the majority of players in the NBA who were seen with medallions and headphones on were of African…

Physical appearance conveys much about a candidate’s personality and professionalism, so you should dress in a manner that makes a good first impression in an interview. A good guideline is to dress conservatively. Men, for instance, should avoid casual clothes such as khakis and polo shirts. Instead—even if for what seems to be a company with a casual work…

Every morning, thousands of groggy students make their way to their bedroom closets and ask themselves the same thing: “What am I going to wear today?” The question itself is simple, but as we all know, first impressions mean everything in this world and that makes finding the answer a bit difficult sometimes. The result is a campus full of (hopefully) fully-dressed students that can be divided into three distinct styles; the over-dresser, the casual dresser, and the anti-dresser, that can help tell us more about the kind of students we have here at Taylor’s.…
