At first Hale is on the side of the court and signed death warrants, but then he quits the court and tries to help the people he convicted of witchcraft. Mary was so shy and could barely even stand up for herself, but soon as she can die for accusing the girls of lying she accuses John Proctor who is then hanged. John Proctor shows how he would do anything for his wife, even if that means confessing about his affair. John Proctor left behind two sons and wife the day he was hung.
