Salvador Dali is known for his surrealist paintings. His most well-known artwork is The Persistence of Memory, depicting clocks melting in the heat of a dessert. Dream Caused by The Flight of a Bee around a Pomegranate a Second Before Awakening (1944), is another famous piece of surrealist artwork that Dali created. It resembles the randomness that is present in many of his works such as The Persistence of Memory. His blends of different styles that are incorporated in this work further shows the sporadic style. It is centered and the biggest objects in the painting. The objects around it, makes you really search for it and look deeper into the painting. The title, Dream caused by The Flight of a Bee around a Pomegranate a Second before awakening, makes the viewer really analyze the painting because the bee is so small on the bottom of the painting. Dali even paints a larger pomegranate connecting itself by a fish that the tigers are jumping out of. It’s a straight line that makes you look directly towards the larger and the obviously more prominent pomegranate.
