The Causes and Effects of Fast Food Consumption
Often times many wonder what drives an individual to eat fast food. Thinking about the numerous amount of calories sin each fast food meal one would choose not to eat such a thing. There have been studies that have shown that the amount of fast food consumption has grown tremendously in the last couple of years. There are many causes of people eating such foods; such as, lack of knowledge on what people are consuming, lacks of time to cook, and stress eating. Some effects include obesity, health problems, and in severe cases death.
When talking about what causes an individual to consume such food one really has to determine whether or not people actually know what they are eating. When asking around it has been determined that ever seven out of ten people do not actually know what they are eating when they consume fast food. One individual felt the need to show the world about one major fast food chain (McDonalds). He created a video called supersized me. In this video the individual showed what you are actually consuming when you eat fast food from McDonalds. This gentleman also proves that eating McDonalds for thirty days straight for three meals a day will lead to health problems or even death. He took the challenge and had to forfeit early because he has become very sick from the food. Eating this food may be very severe. Many people unfortunately do not realize this.
We as Americans have begun to consume our lives and cram them with full schedules. This has become a very dangerous thing. Many people avoid having to cook a freshly prepared meal by buying and consuming fast food. If and individual would ask people today how many times a week they consume fast food , the numbers would be shocking; many would reply with three or four times. When are only suggested to eat fast food about once every month. Those fatty foods are supposed to be eaten in moderation.
