Causes of Animal and Plant Extinction, and Its Effects on Humans
Animals and Plants Extinctions causes and effects on human

Nowadays , animal extinction is a broad issue, one that involves the habitats and environments where other species live and interact with one another . Only a minority of people are concerned with extinction in today痴 society, while others might argue that it is a small problem because we are beyond the point of evolution and thus don't really need to rely on other animals at all. According to statistics of scientific research, extinction is an important issue world wide. The three main things that this essay will highlight are the causes of extinction, how it effects humans and the solution.

Extinction means to be wiped out and completely destroyed. To become extinct is to be gone forever. Extinction can cause by many various ways. Firstly extinctions could cause by natural disaster such as climate change , global warming , asteriod impact. There are one example of natural massive extinction happended in 66 million years ago during the cretaseous period, the dinosaur become extinct by a natural disaster such as a comet hitting the earth or a gigantic vocano errupting. However most extinction in the pass decades aren't natural, based on the last century's recorded extinctions, the current rate of extinction is 100 times the background rate. Humanity's impact on the earth has increased extinction rates ; for instance, habitat destruction , pollution , deforestation , unsustainable hunting and illigal wildlife trade.

Animal are part of our ecosystems, not only they contribute to the ecosystem and maintain the balances of the ecosystems. If the other animals and plants went extinct it will certainly influence to the other species. Assuming that we human don't want to live on a wither planet. Although human are at the top of food chain, it is arduous affect human directly and it would take numerous amount of species to become extint to directly affect us because we have

Should humans be concerned with the extinction rate? Yes, we should think about how our actions affect every living organism within our ecosystem, as we all share and is dependent on its resources. Over population, over-consumption, and consumerism are some of the reasons that our environment is in its current condition. As the earth’s population increases, the use of natural resources increases. More and more the impact of humans on the environment is becoming a greater issue for our society. As humans we are dependent upon the environment for its raw materials we use for food and shelter. “The demands of industrialization require that we use our natural resources in order to run our technology. However, the demands of future generations mean that we must use these resources wisely and in a sustainable manner so that society does not stop because of our lack of concern” (Weinclaw, 2009). It would be in the best interest of our future generations that we strive to preserve samples of biomes by limiting our footprint on those that we can.…

Endangered species are those that are approaching the inability to reproduce or maintain a sufficient steady state population. They are approaching a bottle neck that without involvement, nature will eliminate their existence on earth. Although humans seem to interfere and even initiate this decline of animal population, we ourselves are a product of nature, and if allowing extinction benefits the overall wellbeing of our species, then it is our natural obligation to allow such extinction to take place.…

So who cares if a bird or two goes extinct? Or an elephant? Or a bug? To most people it doesn’t really matter. But species extinction is a great moral wrong. Every species has a role in its ecosystem and by intruding on the natural balance of things and thus causing the early extinction of species we are throwing the natural balance out of whack and reducing biodiversity. Biodiversity is key in surviving ecological hardship. When difficult situations arise, it is up to species to adapt and evolve to overcome. By intervening and accelerating the hardship of not just one species, but entire ecosystems, we are creating so much stress of the species present that they simply cannot adapt or evolve quick enough in such a short span of time. Thus, human actions are directly responsible for the extinction of many species, which directly correlates to a decrease in genetic and biodiversity. It is hard to deny that we rely on, and take for granted, all of the species and their roles in their ecosystem and how they keep things afloat. And by irreparably damaging these systems, we are directly relating to our ability to gather supplies such as food sources and lumber and agriculture in the future. Thus it falls upon humanity to act accordingly to try and prevent the damage we will cause if we continue “business as usual” in the…

Though there are several, the causes of extinction have been dominated by the activities of humans. These include population and overexploitation, with habitat destruction being the greatest contributor to the extinction of many species; moreover, impacts to biota from habitat fragmentation, is a critical mechanism of driving species to extinction. This destruction is ongoing in both terrestrial and aquatic biomes, with approximately 80% of all extinctions being attributed to human caused habitat destruction. The effects of habitat destruction are especially prevalent in areas of the world with a formerly rich biodiversity that are being converted into land to be utilized commercially or agriculturally. For…

Humans are making the lives of animals harder and easier. Our expansion can interfere with species native to an area, forcing that species to to die out, leave, or change. Overhunting can hit a species hard because it gives little time to react. Although some can. For example, some elephants, valued for their ivory tusks, have started to produce offspring without tusks. These as a result are ignored by hunters. Overfishing is a big problem, as fisherman do not simply want a certain part of the fish. The biodiversity in freshwater habitats has declined by fifty percent in the last thirty…

Mass extinctions are very important events to the living organism. When mass extinction happens, it will create huge impact toward the world, negative or positive. For the conservation biologist, they usually think this is a great loss. On the other hand, from the evolutionary perspective, mass extinction could be something good and bad at the same time. Mass extinction would end a lineages and the unique genetic vitiation will be eliminate (Jablonski, 2001). The result of this factor is the loss of the species and it might have some value toward the humankind, such as the medical or economic value. Also, if the extinct species still exist, it might make a different in the world, such as human no longer the most intelligent species in the world.…
