Having knowledge of the industrial revolution and the positive and negative effects it had on the people I believe that there were more negative effects than positive. After reading more about the industrial revolution some people said that it was benefiting poor people and others said that it was taking away opportunities for kids. Some of the industrial revolution positive effects were that poor people were able to acquire more goods, were able to travel for less money. Before the industrial revolution happened cities were make less goods and because they were making less they had to charge more for the little they were making. Lower class people were not able to afford any of the goods nor the were able to travel far and the industrial revolution helped them The industrial revolution helped the lower class people because now with all the machines and factories they were making more goods. Goods raised by thousands over the next few years and they were charging less because they were making more. This benefited poor people, now they were able to travel for less. But the industrial revolution also brought negative effects. With the industrial revolution kids were taken away the opportunity to go to school, to study, to get prepared for their future. Based on my readings some kids worked for 16 hours and got only 40 minutes to eat at noon. This is crazy, kids and women working for so long, some kids even died because of the machines, because of the dust in the factories, because of a poor diet! Even though some documents were people were interview state that the women’s and kids in these factories had good clothing that were gaining money and some bosses rented them rooms, and that kids seemed happy, that kids enjoy more working than learning how to write or how to read. Which nowadays we say that kids won’t enjoy working more than going to school. It also affected them because a lot of women
