Another possible theory is climate change, the dinosaurs didn't adapt fast enough to the climate when it was changing and eventually they became extinct.
It's not certain how the dinosaurs became extinct but there is evidence that suggests what caused the extinction of dinosaurs. Most scientists believe that a comet or asteroid hit earth 66 million years ago which caused gasses and dust to pollute the air. It also affected the plates of the earth and caused tsunamis, earthquakes and most …show more content…
Many palaeontologists have different views and thoughts on the extinction of all dinosaurs but the most common and realistic theory is the asteroid theory. Even though climate change is very possible it would of taken thousands of years to wipe out every dinosaur on the planet when with the asteroid theory it would of taken seconds. Both theories are relevant with lots of evidence backing them up.
In conclusion, two of the strongest theories that scientists have come up with are the asteroid theory and the climate change theory. Palaeontologists have come up with many other theories that explain why and what had happened to the dinosaurs. Another possible theory is the volcano eruption theory which some people believe was caused by the asteroid impact that made ongoing volcanoes. The extinction of all the dinosaurs were caused by a series of events that caused a lot of damage on the earth that changed our planet
