The beginning of World War II. The contestants in WWII were divided into two groups, the Allied Powers and the Axis Powers. The following countries were in the Allied Powers: Soviet Union,United States,Britain, China, France, Poland, Belgium, and the Netherlands. The Axis Powers consisted of the following: Germany, Japan,and Italy. The Allied Powers during WWII were those that opposed the Axis Powers. At the beginning of war, Britain and the Commonwealth Nations stood almost alone, but the United States, China, and many other nations came and and joined the Allies.The Allies promoted the alliance as seeking to stop German, Italian,and Japanese aggression. The Axis described their goal as “breaking the leadership of the plutocratic-capitalist Western powers and to defend civilization from communism.”
There were many causes to World War II, but many of them were caused by individual leaders. Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini.Of all the causes of World War II, Adolf Hitler’s desire, who was also in control of Nazi Germany, to dominate Europe and resettle German farmers were outstanding. Hitler was primarily allies with Japan (which had a desire to dominate East Asia, more specifically China) and as well as Italy( they had their own ambitions).
Adolf Hitler was also responsible for the Holocaust that took place in Germany during WWII. This was the murder of approximately six million Jews during this time. This was a programme of systematic state-sponsored murder by Nazi Germany, led by Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party, throughout the German Reich and German-occupied territories.
Another cause of WWII, I guess you could say, would be Benito Mussolini. He was the leader of the National Fascist Party in Italy. Mussolini was ruling the country as the Prime Minister from 1922 until he was removed in …show more content…
Germany invaded Poland on September 1, 1939, starting what we call World War II. On June 10,1943, he decided to side with Germany, though aware that Italy did not have the military capacity to carry out a long war between France and Britain. From then on war continued.
During the war, many countries were obviously against each other at all odds. The first “clash” was between the London “Blitz” and the German Air Force on July 10, 1940. This was known as the Battle of Britain.The name came from a famous speech delivered by Prime Minister Winston Churchill in the House of Commons: “... the Battle of France is over. This battle,known as the Battle of Moscow, took place during October 1941 and January 1942.
The attack on Pearl Harbor was also a “clash” during WWII. This attack was a surprise military strike organized by the Imperial Japanese Navy against the United States naval base on the morning of December 7,1941. These attacks on Pearl Harbor led the United States to the entry of World War
