At this time, I have no other thoughts or any observations just trying to obtain all the information given already. I will take this weekend trying to familiar myself with the classroom and the other available applications.…
My name is Damian Coles and I have decided to return to school, to better prepare myself for the future that awaits me. I am a newlywed with a one year old son, and a beautiful wife who supports me in my new endeavor. I have not been in a learning facility since December of 2003, so I am aware that some things have changed since then.…
My instructor has been very encouraging during this course. My instructor is available, answers emails in a timely manner and reaches out to me as a student to make sure that I have what I need to be successful. I am grateful for her assistance and look forward to the remaining of the…
My RCS Capstone Experience challenged me by forcing me to speak infront of a large group of people, who have had more years of experience than I have. Also a physical challenge for I had to develope my upper body strength for the training I had to endure. Both of these things pushed me out of my confort zone, but in the long run I know they will be valuable skills for the future. I have been a volunteer at Jacobs Creek Fire Department for three years, but even with these years there is still always room for improvement. This topic is important to me because the people in my station are like family to me. I know even on my worst of days that they will always have your back. In addition being in the fire department brought me and my dad closer,…
CSVI a - The reason I chose to become an early childhood professional is because I like to be part of the learning process and see how the children benefit from the program we provide. I believe that early education is very important for children and I take a great pride in the work I do every day. With my art education and ability to be very creative, I am able to use it in my classroom and create artistic wall displays, bulletin boards, interesting art projects, and colorful teaching tools for the children in our program. Every day we provide them with paint , paintbrushes ,crayons, scissors ,glues, colorful papers and many more craft supplies and they go to create their own very special piece of art. This is one of many activities in the classroom that helps them to develop variety of different skills they need for everyday life and I get to be part of it. I understand that as their teacher I am a big influence on them and every moment of the time they spend in the school and I provide them with loving and positive environment. Every day, while they are away from their families, they get to spend a day filled with learning carefully planned fun activities, and I am very happy to be a part of that. At the end of every school year I’m pleased to see all of our students to move on to the next level of their education and I’m proud that I was able to help them learn basic skills and prepare them…
My career goal is to be a qualified early childhood education teacher. I chose this career path because I have always had an interest in children, and the way they develop: physically, intellectually, socially and emotionally, while being in an intimate multicultural environment. The abundance of knowledge children gain in the first five years of life is remarkable; it is…
Whilst I have good understanding of caring and supporting children from work experience, I also have an experience of being a mother of 3 children (including twins). So over the years I have developed a good understanding of early childhood development and learning. Until recently I had chosen to leave my full-time employment to concentrate on raising a young family.…
As long as I can remember I have always loved to learn new things. When I began my journey back in 2005 to pursue a degree I wasn’t sure exactly what I wanted to focus on. What I found amazing was shortly after starting college my love for learning grew exponentially. Today nearly 10 years later I am close to realizing my goal of earning a bachelor’s degree in nursing. When I reflect on how much I have learned over this past year I am so grateful for the learning opportunities that the Bachelors of Science in Nursing at Western Governor University has brought to my life and to my career as a Registered Nurse. The artifacts in my portfolio are the evidence that my program of study has prepared me to be proficient in such areas of professional nursing as, patient safety, nursing research, evidence-base practice, quality of care, effective leadership, and community health. My Leadership Practicum enabled me to discover a healthcare concern on the unit that I work on. In collaboration with team members, we were able to come up with successful solutions that were supported by evidence based research. My Community Health and Population Practicum course required me to broaden my communication skills with others. This course brought me the knowledge and experience that I needed to be proficient in communicating with patients, colleagues, and professionals in the community.…
This class would help me obtain my long term goals into becoming a neonatal nurse. The job would be very challenging but rewarding. I would love working with little people until they are discharged and helping not only the infants but their parents also. While I’m in college I want to work as a CNA part time not only to help me learn more about patient care but to help me financially.…
I plan to build upon this unique educational background with a doctorate level nursing education through The College of Saint Scholastica. As a family nurse practitioner with a background in child development I will be able to provide a holistic understanding of the needs of children, families, and adults at all developmental levels.…
Moving on to the present with both of my children in school I felt it was time to go back to my love of preschoolers. I currently work in an elementary school and want to further myself educationally by obtaining my CDA. Hopefully my little sponges will be absorbing positive affirmations in a world on negativity. That’s a little bit about me. My goal is to make a difference in one child at a…
I am Hayley Anderson and I am so pleased to be working with your children! I am 19 years of age and I have been working with young children for about 2 months now and I love every minute of it. I closely align my teaching philosophy with Behaviorism and Social learning theory, by B.F. Skinner and John B. Watson.…
For me, one of the biggest issues that I face is trying to remember to remain realistic throughout my coursework at GCU. This is because I am one of those people who naturally tries to bite of more than I can chew simply because I want to try to get ahead. However as the chapter said, being unrealistic about what you wish to get accomplished is often detrimental to the student since it often results in student's submitting subpar work. Additionally one thing that was not mentioned was that it also can hurt the motivation of students since they will make some unrealistic goal and when they do not accomplish it then they feel defeated. This will be my biggest challenge, although it will be something that I can overcome since the GCU material…
For the past two years I have been employed with Gulf Coast Community Action Agency. I have fallen in love with teaching preschool age children. After I obtain my CDA certification my short term goals will be to obtain a degree in early childhood education. By fulfilling my goal as an early childhood educator I can be a better parent and a better role model in my community.…
After I graduated from high school May of 2010, I took some time to think about the career path that I wanted to follow. A couple months after I graduated from high school, I applied for a job at the Early Explorers Head Start in Anamoose, ND. I did not get the job that I applied for but that was okay because the next day I got a call from the School District offering me another job. They offered me the job of the assistant substitute teacher in the Early Explorers classroom. I accepted the job offer and started working in September of 2010. I loved the job so much. There was also something special in the job for me, my baby brother was also in that class. My experiences have been very rewarding so far and have inspired me to want to continue along this path and seek further knowledge in the field. It truly does mean so much to me knowing that I have helped those children learn so many new things in life that will help them with their social and cognitive development.…
