The movie I will write about is the The Purge Anarchy. I would say have more than one genre. I would say that the genres are action, horror and thriller. Action movies are movies that have a tremendous impact, continue high energy and lots of physical activities. Horror movies are unsettling movies designed to frighten and panic, cause dread and alarm, and to invoke our hidden worst fears, often in a terrifying, shocking finale, while captivating and entertaining us at the same time in a cathartic experience. These are types of films known to promote intense excitement, suspense, a high level of anticipation, ultra-heightened expectation, uncertainty, anxiety, and nerve-wracking tension. Thriller and suspense films are virtually synonymous and interchangeable categorizations, with similar characteristics and features.…
The movie “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” is a successful example of comedy. It was theoretical released on April 18, 2008. The film was brought together by a group of well acted performers and was very famous for perfectly combining the hilarious performances and the laughter together. I think that a successful comedy movie has to have these important factors. First, it needs to be performed with the perfect sounds elements such as the background music and the songs in the movie; second, the movie should be brought by some famous figures and directors, which were well-known in the comedy industry to make sure it will have a great hit this time; third, there should be a lot of stupid scenes with nonsense in the movie that will make people laugh their heads off.…
Films that I particularly favor are thrillers. One reason Thrillers become so enjoyable for me, a sense of diversion is created making the viewers more indulge in the movie all the way to the ending. The plots are usually twisted, climatic, suspenseful and intelligence is often use far as the writing perspective to result in an ecliptic viewing of the movie. A really great thriller will usually bring a shock factor by the climax, then the movie will receive a better understanding from the beginning to end. Another genre of films I enjoy are Musicals they are fashionable and express emotions through singing. I am really into lyricism so I enjoy comparing the actual expression of the each character's individual story and the progression…
With the large variety of interests that flourish within the society, it is no shock that genres exist, especially in film, as the definition of entertainment differs from person to person. A genre is a category of films that are characterised by similarities in the narrative elements and conventions found within the films. Genres are extremely useful to both film producers and audiences as it helps them narrow down the target audience and search for films that are in their range of interests. No one wants to watch a political drama overrun with teenagers or go into a cinema with the intentions of watching a romantic comedy, only to receive blood and gore instead.…
The genre of horror was created in 1896 and set out to frighten the audience with induced feelings of terror and horror. The sub-genre of Vampires does this, but the way it induces these feelings has changed over time, with the two features of Male Vampires and Female Victims representing this change. Three movies that exemplify the aspect of change within the two features are, Dracula (1931) directed by Tod Browning, Fright Night (1985) directed Tom Holland and Twilight (2008) directed by Katherine Hardwicke. These three movies represent the change in the genre and society itself.…
The key elements in a good horror film include good actors, marking visuals, and a large budget. On the other hand, intense, descriptive imagery and longer lasting suspense is crucial in successful horror novels. A novel cannot be directly and exactly translated into film given limitations motion pictures have. Most of the time, other elements such as visual effects have to be added in order to scare the audience through the visual medium. Therefore, a terrifying novel may very well turn into a rather bland film if not properly executed in the same way that a bland novel can be turned into a chilling film through strong additions, direction, and…
Almost each week a new movie comes out in theater and there is always somebody that wants to see it. There are many different types of movies that are made, more and more are being made each year. Princess movies for the children. Comedy movies for the people that are in search for a laugh. Then there are the people that are in seek of movies that cause different opinions.…
Ever since I have been a little kid, I have always loved horror movies. This genre of movies interests me, because you are constantly kept on the edge of your seat. I think when you take a look at various horror films and compare them; you will notice an array of different scare tactics/methods. You will also notice many cliché ideas that a lot horror flicks have in common. I will point these ideas out in detail, when I compare The Dawn of The Dead horror flick released in 1978, with the one released in 2004; Two and a half decades later.…
Every time a new scary movie comes out everyone goes the first couple of days to see it, but did you know that the movie that just came out probably had history in it?Scary movies from the 1800s to the 2000s have changed abundantly, they have improved the quality of the movies, each year the movie have a different theme, and most of the scary movies have history. Many people that go see the movie when it comes out did not know any of this so your not the only one. Between the year of 1900 and 1920 many of the filmmakers are still trying to find new genres of scary movies.…
The horror film has always been one of the principle genres in the history of the cinema. In fact, one of the first American films we know of is a version of Frankenstein made by Thomas Edison in 1910. Many silent horror films were made in the 1920's, including Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, The Phantom of the Opera, and The Hunchback of Notre Dame. The thirties, not only brought sound to the moviegoers, but also an abundance of quality horror flicks to choose from; two of the most admired ones were…
The 1978 John Carpenter classic Halloween is my all time favorite film, both inside and outside the horror genre. Nothing in the Halloween franchise can come close to touching it, and although it does have some pretty impressive rivals in the form of Alien, The Shining, Scream, and It Follows, Halloween in my opinion still comes out on top as the best modern horror film in history. It's influence and ability to captivate and terrify, not to mention the craft and simple but elegant plotting behind it, are the reasons for its' lasting legacy. However, all of that aside, the 1978 original was not the first horror film I watched as a kid, or even the first Halloween film I watched. The title belongs to…
The horror genre is perhaps one of the most identifiable aspects of the American film industry. So established is the genre that for many watching their first truly scary movie has become a rite of passage into adolescence. Though the horror genre has changed and evolved as have the times, the phenomenon of experiencing that first horror movie, or any good horror, is timeless and ageless. Even the location of this experience has changed but no matter whether a horror movie is experienced at a drive in movie, a movie theater, or at home, most people, old and young, can recall exactly what their first horror was, with whom they watched it, and where they were.…
Horror films are those known to create fear by depicting gore, ghosts, killers, and/or killings. Examples of horror movies include the Saw, Insidious, and Halloween movies. Horror movies tend to center on an evil force, person, or event that is supposed to resemble something of the audience’s worst fears and/or nightmares. Ghosts and zombies have become more popular…
Most people love to go to the movies. The movies are an escape into a fantasy world; a way to leave behind the troubles of life and experience a totally different one. However, everyone has a preference on what kind of movie is best. Romance, horror, action and comedy are the four main movie types. The kind of movie that someone sees can give clues as to what kind of person they are and what interests them most.…
To most people, horror is the genre that makes them become gregariously incautious, meaning that they treat others without respect. The majority believe that this leads to the massive killings you see on the news. This is the opposite approach a screenwriter takes upon writing a screenplay. The screenwriter wants to allow one viewer to openly express their internal fears with other members of the audience through screams and shrills. Before horror was even meant to hit the big screen, it originated long before then back in 1896.…
