Cell phones are becoming increasingly common in high schools, middle schools and even grade schools. Cell phone use in school is often considered a problem by parents and teachers, prompting many schools to ban cell phone use completely. While there are several significant disadvantages to allowing cell phones in school, there are also some legitimate reasons students should be allowed to carry phones.
On one hand it is great for convenience if they need to contact their parents or for parents to know where they are in any emergency. In this case if students could have their cell phones in class they could put their work into their cell phones with an alarm and never miss an assignment due. However, teachers should give their students a certain amount of time to put their assignments in their phones so they will only be able to use their phones for school related things. Moreover, during class the teacher may ask the students to research something, while taking the whole class down to the library would take to long, many students have internet access on their cell phones which could be used at the tip of their fingers so, this would save time and would allow the teachers more time to teach.
