On this presentation I will be talking about how the center for disease control and prevention came to be and of the founder, also some of the qualifications for the directors and how they attempt to make this a better nation. First I will discuss the founder of the CDC and how it first started. The man we have to thank for this amazing center is Dr. Joseph W. Mountin. He created this center on July 1, 1946. The centers headquarters are found in Atlanta Georgia. When the CDC first started there were only about 400 employees and most of them were engineers and entomologists. The dream for his creation was for the CDC to be an institution that would expand and eventually include all communicable diseases. This meant that it would come to be the center that would find all the known diseases and inform the world of its findings and help prevent sickness. As of today this dream has come true the center for disease control and prevention does exactly what it was supposed to do. Now with over 6,000 employees ranging from carpenters to scientists it helps many Americans have the life style they always dreamed of not having to worry about what diseases are out there infecting their loved ones. The satisfaction of knowing that there is someone out there working on keeping their family safe.
