Cereal Prefeed Pellet: Case Study
When luring possums to eat 1080 Pest control will cover a land area with Cereal Prefeed Pellet which is made up of icing sugar, flour and cinnamon, by helicopter. They will repeat the same land area three times. This attracts the possums to eat the pellets and the possums thinks that the pellets are food. Then Pest Control will do the same thing, again distributing Cereal Prefeed Pellets out and then again the possums will continue to eat the Prefeed Pellets. On the third run done by Pest Control they will put out green 1080 baits instead. The possums still think that it is the Prefeed Cereal because it still has the same cinnamon smell (Thomson, 2017).

If a sow bug is placed in a choice tray, and has access to decaying leaves, potatoes, grapes, and sow bug food, the sow bug will choose the decaying leaves over its other options. This hypothesis was based on research stating that a sow bug's main food source is decaying vegetation. JustSave Foods is a chain of 19 grocery stores in North Carolina owned by Merchants Distributors Inc. (MDI). While they are now a sister chain of Lowes Foods, JustSave’s stores were originally Lowes stores not too long ago. The 19 stores are largely located in more rural areas with more tight-knit communities. Due to their poor performance in comparison to local competitors, it was clear to management at MDI that the stores needed a change from what Lowes Foods offers. While one part of that change is focused more on appealing to the economies of these rural communities with lower prices, management at MDI believes that another significant change that needs to be made is in the realignment of JustSave’s organizational culture.…

The results from our experiment does support our hypothesis. When comparing and viewing the data of the amount of pullets that were recording, pill bugs preferred rotten fruit to rotten meat. The accuracy of our data was based upon the amount of times the treatment was repeated and the amount of Pill bugs that died. Pill bugs cannot live in a cold environment because they will freeze. Due to the irregular climate in the North country, that would be a factor that could not have been controlled and would be one of the variables that caused the pill bugs to die. If this experiment was replicated, a controlled climate and a longer testing period would help produce more stable results.…

the new mutated pests. So eventually more and more pesticides are created to protect the crop. Carson says, “destructive insects often undergo a ‘flareback’ or resurgence, after spraying, in numbers greater than before” (8) Not only must researchers develop new pesticides, but also farmers need to use more. The farmers use the poison for temporary relief from the pest problems confronting them. The pesticides are a quick and easy solution for a pest issue that, ironically, have left people with a larger and stronger force of pests.
