Arterio-venous malformation (AVM) is a tangle of arteries and veins. It is most common in either a person’s brain or spinal cord. If it is located in a person’s brain there are few symptoms if any (Medline, 2013, 2). The most common symptoms include hemorrhages, seizures, headaches, and neurological problems. AVM is a rare condition and there are no known cause other than it develops during pregnancy or soon after birth.
