Abstract:
This paper explains the case against Chad Evans and the result of the case.
In the month of December 2001, Chad Evans was convicted of second-degree murder of his girlfriend’s 21 month old daughter Kassidy Bortner. Chad Evans was sentenced to twenty eight years- to life and an additional fifteen years subsequently were added to his sentence by the New Hampshire sentence review division upon appeal by the N.H. attorney general. On June 2, 2000, Chad Evans met Amanda Bortner who was the mother of Kassidy Bornter. By early July, Amanda Bornter and her daughter began living at Chad Evans’ home in Rochester, N.H. where both Chad and his three year old son Kyle lived. …show more content…
Kassidy seemed fine. She had a couple of bruises and scratches, but she was okay. She spent the afternoon watching cartoons. Chad picked up Kassidy around 5 pm.
