My artifact for the renaissance is a castle. this artifact represents a merchant's life and changes. The merchants, in my perspective, were the most hard working class and the class who created the bunch of changes. I chose a castle because a lot of o merchants became very rich from the growth of trade and because they were able to buy castle's from the nobility class. Just like the nobility merchants with a lot of money could now have spare time and money to learn how to read, play music, and admire pieces of art. Back when no change occurs church members and nobility were the only ones who could own expensive goods. Now that the merchants class grew wealthier they started to build large houses and were able to own luxurious…
From my perspective, but limited familiarity with works of art in general, the Raphael painting is significant in that it is considered a prime example of High Renaissance art and considered Raphael’s masterpiece. I believe it is also significant because as a component of the School of Athens (1509-1511) the painting over a period of 500 years continues to influence discussion and analysis among art historians and scholars.…
Command responsibility refers to collective or organizational accountability and includes how well the unit performs their missions. For example, a company commander is responsible for all the tasks and missions assigned to the company; his superiors hold him accountable for completing them. Commanders give military leaders the responsibility for what their sections, units, or organizations door fail to do. NCOs are therefore responsible to fulfill not only their individual duties, but also to ensure that their team and unit are successful. The amount of responsibility delegated to you depends on your mission, the position you hold and your own willingness to accept responsibility.…

Throughout the novel, The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, several motifs are used as a way to bring a deeper meaning to quotes that may see you uninteresting from the surface. One very prominent motif in this novel is dreams and premonitions. These motifs are used throughout the novel as ways to introduce foreshadowing and insight into what characters may expect to happen. Most of the occurrences where dreams and premonitions appear are when characters are looking forward to an event or occurrence. In turn, this creates a lot of foreshadowing towards dramatic events that happen all throughout the novel. Several characters experience premonitions before certain events or occurrences that may foreshadow upcoming events. The major purpose…

Late Antiquity, often defined as the period from the late 3rd century C.E. to the mid-7th century C.E., saw the birth of modern world institutions. It was a time of political, cultural, and spiritual changes that laid the foundation for what was to come in the Middle Ages and beyond. Late Antique society saw the birth of the bureaucracy, with rulers who became increasingly separated from the ruled by increasingly intricate channels of access. It saw the end of widespread paganism with the triumph of monotheism as not only a tool of faith, but of government and empire building. Classic historians like Gibbons placed the end of the Late Antique period at the fall of Rome in the 6th century to the Germanic barbarians. The epoch of Late Antiquity…
One key is the change in mindset of the scholars at that time. They thought that all historical styles are natural and desirable and claimed for a change in the unpleasant reality of Rococo and rebelled the artificiality of the industrial revolution.…
It was hugely famous in the architecture of cathedrals, castles and palaces. In the early 14th century Gothic style furniture was mainly painted, but towards the end of the century with the influence of the architecture and fashion more ornate and sculpted furniture was being produced. Gothic chairs were designed to match the richness and wealth of their owner, the colours and shapes were adapted to match the new clothing styles, enriched with carvings they had started to become very similar to royal thrones. The tables were usually rectangular and sometimes ornamental, sculpted and made of either wood, stone or marble. Beds became much larger with higher backs and draped cloths and fabrics, adding the luxury of mattresses and blankets. Chests were initially used to travel but had now become a fixed piece in the gothic interior. The craftsmen started to use grand style ornamentation, consisting of tracery, trefoils and quatrefoils. The earliest form of Tracery is Plate Tracery, it gets its name as it appears to have been cut out of flat plate masonry. This design grew more complex, so the need for masons grew. They drew there designs out first, as either a way to experiment with different designs or to communicate their ideas to craftsmen or to their…

Medieval noble clothing was adaptive, inventive, creative, and ever-changing, since they did not believe in simply using their clothing as protection against elements, but created a balance between style and comfort. Despite their mediocre knowledge of jewelry craftsmanship, the overflowing wealth of the nobles still allowed them to express their style with brilliant embellishments and accessories. From a simple coif to a complex butterfly hennin, nobles developed complex headwear to display personality and improved their formal appearances. To show their high social status, nobles followed the Sumptuary Laws to the maximum extent to fully present personal appearance. Due to these strong factors that influenced the clothing worn by Medieval nobles, it also influenced the style of modern fashion, centuries later. For example, there are many Medieval-themed weddings and costumes, which continue to be popular around the world today. In addition, modern designers are looking into the roots of Medieval luxury fashion, to help them create a new trend of clothwear by combining modern and Medieval styles. Like the evolution of a species, fashion development of a distinct style occurs over long periods of time. Punctuated equilibrium expresses periods of rapid development, like the Medieval and Renaissance time periods where large-scale contributions pushed the fashion world to where it is…
