1.0 Introduction
Eastman Kodak Company was founded by George Eastman in 1880 and headquartered in Rochester, United States. The company was the largest manufacturer and supplier focused on imaging products and services businesses spanning the global. It was leading the way in film imaging, functional printing, graphic communications and professional services for business around the world for years. However, with the fast development of digital technology, Kodak failed to come up with its rivals, lost a great deal of market share and the annual revenue witnessed a continued drop. Consequently, Eastman Kodak, which has a long history of more than 130 years, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on 19th January 2012.
The intent of this paper is to analyse the challenges and opportunities faced by Eastman Kodak. At first, this paper will discuss the prosperity and decline of Kodak through looking back upon its history. And then, it will make use of five forces
