'Change In Bill Myers Blood Of Heaven'
The Blood of Heaven by Bill Myers teaches people that no matter how bad people are, they can change. For Instance, after Steiner falls off the edge of a bridge and Coleman catches him, “...the force of Steiner’s falling body pulled him down, slamming him hard onto the roadway. Now Steiner was dangling over the bridge, clinging to Coleman, his weight pulling Coleman’s arm into the roadway’s steel teeth”(255). Later Coleman tries to save Steiner, “He turned back to Steiner. I think among the three Dark Romantic stories we read, “Devil And Tom Walker” written by Washington Irving provides the most powerful moral lesson. In “Devil And Tom Walker”, the author tells a story about the deal Tom made with the Devil and the results of Tom and his wife to illustrate that gaining ill-gotten wealth would always pay with retribution. For example: “Tom seized the check apron, but, woful sight! found nothing but a heart and liver tied up in it” (Irving 328). When Tom’s wife heard that the Devil gave Tom a chance to become wealthy, she pushed Tom to make the deal. Aftering her request being refused by Tom, she went to find the Devil herself, and never came back.…

It has been said that the biggest obstacle you’ll ever have to overcome is your mind and if you can overcome that you can overcome anything. This statement rings true in the novel The Other Wes Moore by Wes Moore himself. The novel tells the stories of two individuals named Wes Moore who share somewhat similar backgrounds and adversity growing up, but who end up with two very different fates--one a life full of success and the other a life in prison. It is evident that the defining factors within their lives were the author Wes Moore’s mother’s strong presence and guidance, and it is his growth mindset that encourages him to improve; whereas, the other Wes Moore views his brother as his only role model, his father is…

Over the course of youth’s childhood, they will eventually make a remarkable change from an adolescent into an adult, resembling a caterpillar undergoing metamorphosis and emerging into a beautiful butterfly. For years there has been a debate between teenagers and adults dealing with the topic of when teens rightfully become mature and grown up. Henry G. Felsen addresses this subject through telling his own sixteen year old son his opinions and thoughts on this debate in ‘When Does a Boy Become a Man?’. The difference between a boy and a man is not in which one looks like, it is the actions and choices that a man makes which differentiates him from the boy he once was. Henry Felsen has done a commendable job in supporting this theory. He explains what the future holds for these teens that rush into adulthood with the wrong idea of what it is all about.…

People from different nationalities have different drinking preferences, particularly differs in developing and developed countries. A survey was conducted on the 11th June, 2013 to have the comparative study of drinking preferences of overseas students in their country and Australia. The research was conducted by means of a sample size of 25 overseas students. The results partly supported the hypothesis as only 6 out of 25 students had changed their drinking preference. The main result was that boiled water is the most preferred drinking water of overseas students in their country. It is likely the main reason for this might be that all of the students were from Asia where tap water is considered as non-hygiene. It is recommended that colleges should provide information about Sydney Water Supply at orientation day.…
