The discourse of today is the controversy of transition from classical education to modern
,progressive education.To make these two-type of educational system comprehendable,firstly it is helpful to take a glance at the definition of classism and practice.To begin with the definition of classism ,’’ in accordance with ancient Greek and Roman precedents ,classism means aestheistic attitudes and principels based on the culture,art, and literatüre of ancient
Greece and Rome.’’(Carmack,2).When it comes to the definition of ‘’practice’’,practice is a learning method which means engaging in an activity or a behaviour over and over to improve it.Nevertheless,Michael Oakeshott,cited in Fish(2009) article,points out that ‘’there is an important difference between learning which is concerned with the degree of understanding necessary to practice a skill and learning which is expressly focused upon an enterprise of understanding and explaining’’(1).From my point of view ,the change in the perception of higher education has been fort he worse due to the fact that modern system disregards nutriting and caring the soul and tends to remove the significance of humanities regarded as social sciences involving philosophy ,history , linguistics and so on
