RESEARCH METHODOLOGIES

This chapter deals with the research design, research respondents, sampling procedure, research locale, research instrument, data gathering procedure, scoring procedure, reliability and validity of instrument and statistical treatment.

Research Design This study used the descriptive method of research. It is a method designed to describe the data and characteristics about what is being studied. Descriptive research, also known as statistical research, describes data and characteristic about the population or phenomenon being studied. It answer the questions who, what, where, when and how. A descriptive research deals with everything that can be counted and studied. It is used to obtain information concerning the current status of the phenomena to describe “what exists” with respect to variables or conditions in a situation (www.wikipedia.org).

Research Respondents Universal sampling will be used in conducting this study, where the respondents are the First Year Education Student of Tagoloan Community College currently enrolled in the school year 2010-2011.

Research Locale This study was conducted in Tagoloan Community College, Barangay Baluarte Tagoloan Misamis Oriental. Tagoloan is geographically located between the town of Villanueva, Misamis Oriental and Cagayan de Oro City. Tagoloan Community college is at the back of Tagoloan National High School and five hundred meters away from the municipal hall of Tagoloan. Research Instrument
The researcher used adopted questionnaires for data - gathering process. The questionnaire consists of two parts. The first part will determine the demographic profile of the respondents. Part two deals with the different learning styles preferred by the students. There will be fifty (50) items in the instrument. Each learning style will have ten (10) items. Their answers will be the choices that will be provided below each number in the form of coded
