According to Thai (2005) that to prove the point, it is responsibility to provide all the evidences to support whatever claims you are making without data results that supports that claims. It is not a completed work and ideas should be clearly presented and easy to understand. According to Gail Lavielle of Wal-Mart on The Associated Press (2006), Wal-Mart runs its stores on a perpetual inventory system, which records the quantity of items sold as items are purchased. The computer system at Wal-Mart constantly keeps up with additions or deductions from inventory and tells management what items are on hand. She also said that “a leaner inventory will help clear out store clutter and help Walt Mart focus on specific brands and products that consumers want”.
Helman (2006) stated on his book entitled “The Science of Database Management” that database system has the task of managing data most especially database system must support queries and updates against a collection of interrelated information.
U.S. Small Business Administration (2010) said that, “Inventory refers stocks of anything necessary to do business”. They also describe what constitutes in a successful inventory management, such as, balancing cost vs. benefits, increasing inventory turnover w/o sacrificing service, keeping a stock low w/o sacrificing performance, obtaining low prices by making large purchases and maintaining an enough inventory w/o an excess in not so much needed items. Based on the article of Pete Abilla (2011), they tackle the different causes of using inventory system. One of it is to properly manage the spoilage concern of products. Second is to stop paying hidden cost which comes to too much inventory resulting in more expenses. Third is to stop disappointing customers by not having the products they need on time or at all. Fourth is to stop wasting time because doing inventory by hand is very time consuming.
