In this chapter, the writer begins with a single word “winter” (on page 48), it clearly shown that there will be some significant events happen in the winter. Then the writer further introduces the event kite fighting in the next few paragraphs. It also stated that all the boys are passion about it, its not just a game between each pair of kids, it's a battle. On the last paragraph on page 49 the writer used “every winter” to begins, because the writer wants to show that this is one of the biggest that will happen in Kabul, everyone looks forward to it. In fact, it has made everything worse.
Also we realize that amir is just a thirteen years old boy trying to deal with a almost impossible situation. Amir is feeling very guilty, so he tried to punish himself but it didn't work. If Hassan is still here, it will just remind amir about what happened, so amir must make Hassan leave.
In this chapter we can clearly see a comparison of amir and Hassan. Hassan is brave but amir is weak and afraid to face what happened. This makes the reader think about what will amir do to reduce his guiltiness.
At the end of the chapter baba just forgive Hassan, but usually baba has his own set of rulers, so this will lead to a question in the reader mind “ why didn’t baba follow his own moral? ” this will make the reader continue to read the rest of the book.

Then he sit down and ordered a cup of tea. Amir sit on his chair and start to reflects all the events of his life. He realizes that there have been signs all along that indicated that Hassan was his brother. Event such as Baba had fixed Hassan's harelip or he never missed Hassan's birthday. Also the conversation that they had when Amir had asked his Baba if they could hire new servants. On page 225 "Hassan's not going anywhere, He's staying right here with us, where he belongs. This is his home and we're his family."
Then he also remembered how his father had wept when Ali and Hassan had left. The writer brought up all these events, because he want to remind the reader that there were lot of clues in the pervious chapters to indicate there must be some relationship more than master and servant between amir and Hassan. However, one could not have come to the conclusion with these examples alone that Hassan was Amir's brother, but they can be used as evidence to support that
