Character Analysis Of Atticus Finch

I see the character of Atticus Finch as a courageous, smart, and a great father to Scout and Jem. Atticus had a lot of success as a parent despite the fact that he was a single parent trying to take care of his children on his own. As with any parent though there is always room for improvement. He would give his kids too much freedom. I admire his character and how he handled certain situations.
Atticus showed his children that you have to fight for what you believe the example he made was fighting for Tom Robinson’s case no matter how it turned out he taught them even though people would stand against what they believe in the world to never give up on their cause that they are fighting for. He taught them that true courage is found on the inside not the outside. “Courage is not a man with a gun in his hand. It knows you're licked before you begin but you begin anyway and you see it through no matter what. You rarely win, but sometimes you do (pg. 149)”. He watches out for them the major example that shows he watches over them is in chapter 15 where Atticus is a the jail and a mob of people meet him there Scout, Dill and Jem quietly follow him there after he finds that they are there
An example of how he handled certain situations showed his character also it showed that he valued the other’s opinion more than his own for instance when Bob Ewell threatened him he just let him it showed that he was humble. Another example was when Jem and Scout were attacked him and Sherriff Tate didn’t want to bring Arthur out because they respected his
