Atticus showed his children that you have to fight for what you believe the example he made was fighting for Tom Robinson’s case no matter how it turned out he taught them even though people would stand against what they believe in the world to never give up on their cause that they are fighting for. He taught them that true courage is found on the inside not the outside. “Courage is not a man with a gun in his hand. It knows you're licked before you begin but you begin anyway and you see it through no matter what. You rarely win, but sometimes you do (pg. 149)”.
