Artist: NF
Bg story: Kamran was held in cell due to his relationship with his brother.

Lyrics:
Feels like we're on the edge right now
I wish that I could say I'm proud
I'm sorry that I let you down
Let you down
All these voices in my head get loud
I wish that I could shut them out
I'm sorry that I let you down
L-l-let you down

His hopes of helping his brother were shattered in his cell.
Following that, NF goes on to say I wish I can say I'm proud.
Kamran had the aspiration of proving his brother’s innocence on the matter of being a terrorist. But as he sat in his cell unhappily, he ruminated on the fact that he was a disappointment, that no one could be proud of.
The fourth line speaks of letting someone down but who?

Walking towards you, with my head down lookin' at the ground, I'm embarrassed for you
Connections: In this section, NF talks about his relationship with his dad.
But in relation to the book, these lines can be correlated to the relationship between Kamran and his brother Darius.
This can be perceived as Kamran trying to clear his brother's name but as he does so, it seems to make things worse, like in line 1 and 2.
In the book, Kamran feels like he's wasting his time because he can't tell if his brother takes notice in what he's doing.
The last two lines can testify to Kamran's inconsistent doubts, this is due to the fact that Kamran variably lets other people’s doubts about Darius enter into his head causing him to get embarrassed for his brother.
Lastly, Kamran wasn't on board with his brother’s decision to go to war so he did what line 4 said. Simple. And later regretted his decision when his brother did leave.
Paranoia, what did I do wrong this time? That's parents for you
Very loyal?
