Environment plays a crucial role in one's life. If someone was stuck in a bad environment, it would have a negative effect on them and vice versa. In both Wes Moore's cases, drugs were in both of their environments and negatively impacted their lives. According to his memoir, The Other Wes Moore, "'You wanna tag?' I couldn't say no. First off, Shea was one of the most respected young hustlers in the neighborhood." This demonstrates how Wes's environment was filled with people like Shea; young and in the drug game. The fact that Shea, a player in the drug game, was respected meant that the people in the environment were mainly drug addicts or people who wanted to be like him.
