Human services organizations are agencies that are created for the sole purpose of helping people, whether they be for profit or non-profit. There are many different types of human services organizations as well as various types of populations being helped also these agencies have a variety of services being offered. The success or failure of organizations or even particular programs is dependent upon many different factors, including the characteristics of the organization and the environment. This paper will review a specific organization, discussing various aspects of it that are a culmination of exactly what defines this organization. The organization that will be explored in this paper is The Department of Children and Family Services located in the state of Florida.
Mission and Vision The mission of The Department of Children and Family Services located in the state of Florida is to protect the vulnerable, promote strong and economically self-sufficient families, and advance personal and family recovery and resiliency.
The vision is that every child in Florida lives in a safe, stable, permanent home, nurtured by healthy families and strong communities. This new Five Year Child and Family Services Plan (CFSP) reflects this vision and is supported by the
Department of Children and Families Strategic Direction Plan and the Quality
Improvement Plan (QIP). This organization spealizes in helping families and children in every capacity that is needed There are several services that this organization offers such as feeding and sheltering the hungry and the homeless. They also offers services for the abused, disabled, the elderly, the community and many more.
