If you chose to dine at Pappadeux, each patron is greeted by an exquisitely dressed staff. The wait staff is dressed in black slacks, white tuxedo shirts, and classic bow ties, while the hostess attire is all black. In recent months, Chipotle expanded into the Memphis area in the Poplar/I-240 area in a new shopping center near Target and Best Buy, surrounded by a variety of other restaurants and businesses. Chipotle, Qdoba, and Moe’s all strive for market presence by positioning themselves in areas convenient to shopping centers, in strip malls, and near business centers. They are equal in the “Employment Practices” category as all strive to promote from within and offer strict training and development programs focusing on expanded knowledge through certification processes. The differences that stand out, allowing Chipotle to excel strategically are in Customer Service, Menu Selection, and Quality. Chipotle prides itself on having a genuine concern for the patron by hiring individuals from all walks of life and ethnicities. Whatever language a customer speaks, or ethnic background they are from, there is probably a Chipotle team member who can connect with them to walk them through the dining experience. Qdoba Mexican Grill and Moe’s Southwestern Grill have attempted to connect through customer service and experience but are not making as strong of a head wave as is Chipotle. There is truly a unique dining experience to talk about at Chipotle that draws patrons back for more. The menu selection at Chipotle consists of the…

The American hamburger is an American classic and the most recognizable menu item in the fast food industry. Even though there are many different takes on the types of meats, toppings, and dressings used, the hamburger has been a restaurant regular and historical favorite of both children and adults. The hamburger can even bridge cultural and religious divides. It can unite the masses, and with that being said many people agree that all burgers are not created equal. While McDonald’s is synonymous with happy childhoods and those long bumpy road trips, In-N-Out caters to the majority of young adults past the age of fourteen desires a more sophisticated burger.…

There are two major fast food restaurants that people choose. One is McDonald’s; the other one is IN-N-OUT. Between McDonald’s and IN-N-OUT, there are some similarities and differences. The first similarity is price. You can buy a combo meal including a hamburger, a pack of french fries, and a soda. Both their price are no more than 10 dollars. Another major similarity is management. Not only McDonald’s but also IN-N-OUT, there are lots of chain stores everywhere in America. Despite these similarities, the two fast food restaurants differ in some ways. First, it is the freshness of the food. At McDonald’s they cook food before the customer comes. On the other hand, at IN-N-OUT they cook food after the customer comes to order. So the food at IN-N-OUT is fresher than At McDonald’s. A final difference is secret menu. At McDonald’s all foods you can order are on the menu. However, at IN-N-OUT not all foods are on the menu. On their menu, they are just cheeseburger, double cheeseburger, hamburger, french fries, and soda. It seems that too less kinds of food are provided. Yet it’s not truth. In fact, there are other foods like wish burger, Animal Style Fries, Flying Dutchman, Protein Style, etc you can eat. All in all, there are some similarities and differences I have noticed between McDonald’s and IN-N-OUT. Some people like McDonald’s; some people like IN-N-OUT. That’s all right. You can choose what you…

To add on to that, In-N-Out Burger pays all costs associated with the Child Abuse Foundation, that way they guarantee every penny raised goes directly to help abused and neglected children. A second unique characteristic would be that In-N-Out has a "secret menu" that they call the "not so secret". A secret menu is items from the normal In-N-Out menu with a twist that normally customers create, or sometimes the franchise itself creates. This exclusive menu makes the experience of eating at In-N-Out much more exciting because the customer thinks they are trying something not many people have tried and it makes them feel like they are a part of something unique.…

In observation 5, a typical couple in there mid 30’s arrives embracing each other coming in to enjoy a nice dinner. The kind associate greets them with a smile and politely takes their order. This may seem like any other ordinary behavior at In-N-Out, but immediately after this couple finishes taking their order, a family of six arrives. This family consists of 2 adults, 2 kids and 2 elders. As stated in observation 6, the associate was extremely nice, far more polite to this family then the previous couple mentioned in observation 5 especially to the elders. The associate offered extra help and ensured the order was taken correctly. This isn’t the only occurrence of this happening. In fact, a similar incident happens in observations 23 and 26. During observation 23, a teenager takes a more than a few minutes to order. The associate doesn’t complain directly, but the expression on his face explains it all. A few minutes later, two elderly females come in for lunch (observation 26). They seem to take just as much time as the teenager did as mentioned in observation 23 but this time; the associate’s smile does not come off his face. He seems delighted to wait as long as the two needed. According to my results, 4 out of the 5 elders that were served had first-rate…
