McDonald’s competes in an oligopolistic market structure which has a direct effect on pricing strategy. In this type of market environment, organizations increase profits by producing where MC=MR or marginal cost is equal to marginal revenue. McDonald’s and their competitive organizations set the prices for their industry. “Because of their “fewness,” oligopolies have considerable control over their prices, but each must consider the possible reaction of rivals to its own pricing, output, and advertising decisions” (Brue et al, 2009). The two main competitors for the McDonald’s corporation are Burger King and Wendy’s. The pricing summaries for all three organizations are very similar.…

The UK labour’s market have seen a significant increase in income inequality. The labour market is “a market in which wages, salaries and conditions of employment are determined in the context of the supply and demand for labour.” (Bannock, G Et.al 2003) This disparity in income can be seen from the Gini coefficient, which is a widely used measure of inequality, at an all-time high in recent years, with a significant increase since 1980. This essay aims to describe the reasons of the growing income inequality in the UK and the extent to which it is possible or desirable for the UK government to try reverse this trend.…
