Charlie Skamper: A Short Story
Charlie Smith loves all of his stuffed animals, he even has a special spot for each and every one of them. Even though he has many stuffed animals, his favorite is his stuffed squirrel Skamper, he is always right in the middle of all of the other stuffed animals. Skamper is almost always by Charlie’s side, and when he is not he is in Charlie’s room with all of the other stuffed animals. . When he went to get Skamper he couldn’t find his furry little friend. He found teddy bears,bunnies,cats,and dogs, but no Skamper! He looked everywhere in the closet,on his bed, even in his sock drawer, but found no squirrel.

“ I’m Anthony but I liked to be called Tony,” He said to Charlie amazement Tony was kind and very helpful when it came to looking for Skamper.
“ I think I saw one of my buddies run off with it, he should be over here.” Said Tony
Sure enough as they looked deeper under the bed there sat a furry creature, the same height as Tony. He was clutching something in its paws.
“Hello there, I’m Charlie, what it your name?” Charlie said,
“I’m Riley” said the Monster in a sad voice.
“ Could we see what you have there?” Said Tony unsure of how Rylie would react. Slowly Rylie help out his hands and there in the center of his hands was Skamper.
“ Could I have him back that is my favorite stuffed animal” Charlie said
“ Uh.. I don’t know, I mean It gets lonely down here.” Said Rylie his voice cracking, Charlie thought of how to solve this and then an idea struck him,
“ What if you keep the stuffed animal under here during the day,and i get him at night?” Said Charlie wondering if he would take the bait.
“Sounds good to me, I guess.” Rylie said knowing that he gets to have a pal every day. Charlie Said goodbye and went off to his room to have a good night
