Yost can win her case with these defenses as long as she can prove the inventory was overstated by the company. For her to require the president to sign off on the debated method of counting inventory as it can possibly be used as evidence. Yost was not the only one counting inventory, there was one other person in the CPA firm at each site to an audit procedure.…
From the handover received from neonatal registrar, it can be assumed that baby Amira is in respiratory distress. Amira is currently receiving 30% flow-by oxygen at 10 minutes old to maintain oxygen saturation (Sa02) levels of 92%. Although the target Sa02 level at 10 minutes old is between 85-90% (Department of Health and Human Services, 2014) the fact that Amira is still displaying signs of nasal flaring and moderate work of breathing despite receiving flow-by oxygen is concerning. After conducting a brief initial top to toe assessment, weight and length, Amira should be transferred to an incubator for further vital signs, monitoring and observation of her breathing. Amira’s temperature of 35.9°C is also classified as moderately…
Pamela Spencer, the manager of HouseMart in Port Madison, New York was confronted by one of the store’s regular customers, Mrs. Kerns concerning the state of her installed cedar fencing after a severe wind and rain storm had hit the area. Mrs. Kerns had contacted HouseMart’s installation manager earlier that morning complaining of her fence leaning at a 45-degree angle and after the installation manager’s inspection, he found that since the fence had been properly installed there was essentially nothing he could do and suggested to Mrs. Kerns that she should contact her insurance company. Mrs. Kerns was unsatisfied with the installation manager’s response and entered the store later that day to confront Pamela just as the store was preparing to close. Pamela explained to Mrs. Kerns that she should give her the pictures of the damaged fencing so she could look at them personally but there isn’t much she could do at the time because the store is closing, and then suggested that Mrs. Kerns return to the store the following day to discuss the matter further. Mrs. Kerns agreed to return the next day to discuss the issue at length, leaving Pamela in a predicament about what to tell Mrs. Kerns concerning her fencing.…
In an attempt to win a case it is important to have all the information that pertains to your case. Not only are primary sources of information important but secondary sources are just as important. These sources are easy to read and understand and they can help win a case.…
It troubled him that the Judge Teel described Nancy’s condition as “unresponsive and hopeless” with “no cognitive purpose for her except sound and perhaps pain.” If Nancy feels pain then she is not in a persistent vegetative state (PVS). We did not know what was going on behind the scenes, but later it would all come to light. Our case bypassed the appellate court of Missouri and headed straight to the Missouri Supreme Court, with a little assistance. Our case was scheduled for review in September, along with a case that has opposite opinions as ours. In other words, the parents of a young man named Phillip Radar, that was diagnosed as being brain dead, did not want to let their child go, but the hospital caring for him did. Phillip’s heart was beating even though he was brain dead. Both of the cases were scheduled to be heard on the same morning in September, but on August 31st Phillip’s heart stopped and the effort to revive him was unsuccessful. His death left our case as the only one to be…
Colleen Stan is a woman that was kidnapped and sexually assaulted by Cameron Hooker in Red Bluff, California in 1977. Hookers wife assisted in the kidnapping as well. She was held as a prisoner for 7 years. During this time, she was tortured, sexually assaulted, and led to believe that she was being watched by a large organization called “The Company”. Colleen was then mentally coerced to sign a, “slavery contract” that was supposed to have been from “The Company”. During the mental abuse she was assigned a new name “K”, and was led to believe that her family would be hurt if she attempted to escape. During her time as a captive, she was kept in wooden boxes that Hooker had made.…
By the mid-1990s, Winona Ryder, a fresh-faced young actress, was one of the most prominent screen starlets of the time. She had many hit movies under her belt, including “Heathers”, “Edward Scissorhands”, “Beetle Juice”, and “Reality Bites”. Ryder, a native of Minnesota, was on top of the world. However, a few years down the line, Ryder had a brush with the law that was widely publicized. Both negative and positive outcomes stemmed from this situation.…
On arrival at the ED, the physician auscultates muffled heart tones, no breath sounds on the right, and faint sounds on the left. A.W. is stuporous, tachycardic, and cyanotic. The paramedics inform the physician that it was difficult to ventilate A.W. A STAT portable chest x-ray (CXR) and arterial blood gases (ABGs) are obtained. A.W. has an 80% pneumothorax on the right, and her ABGs on 100%…

The advantage of a living will is the relinquishment of the burden to take someone’s life. A living will gives the instruction as to when to continue to fight for life, or when to let it go. Some people want everything possible to be done to keep them alive as long as possible. More informed individuals who understand there are circumstances where there is no hope for recovery will direct that they do not wish to be kept alive through artificial measures. This includes not only a ventilator, but also feeding tubes. Because the part of your brain that controls breathing is in the brainstem away from the part of your brain that makes you conscious and alert, a person can continue breathing and their heart will continue to pump, but their cognitive function can be dead. In this instance, they are no longer going to recuperate. An…

At first June agreed to the feeding tube but then she became even more ill and didn’t want the tube. The patient bill of rights applies because June has the right to know what treatment options are available to her and what the outcome of all of them will be. The patient has the right to decide his or her own medical care. She also has the right to know about all side effects. June needs to be told what her chances are of living if she does not take the feeding tube like she planned before she became even sicker. June has the right to have her health information kept confidential while only given certain people the right to know her information. It is noted that in the absence of a progressive terminal disease, the feeding tube may be used to prolong…
