This helps me to get the crunch I like and also keep my caloric intake at a minimum.…

First I had to determine my daily requirements by using a calorie calculator. I was able use the weight loss calculator to determine the time and calorie deficit required to reach my target weight. For my optimal weight loss I reduced my calories to 15-20% below maintenance. When I did not make progress I increased this later, the larger my deficit produced, the quicker my body caught on. I learn that my first step should be to increase my activity levels. By me creating a larger calorie deficit, I had to exercise, cardio to burn calories, resistance training to maintain muscle mass.…

I am not a picky eater or one who watches what I eat. I enjoy cooking and I love to eat food that is bad for me. My favorite meal is fried pork chops, mashed potatoes with gravy, corn, turnip greens and corn bread. I am from the south where we use food as a comfort item. When we are happy, sad, mad or just board we eat. We have festivals to celebrate the food we eat. My diet is way off the SuperTrackers recommendations. I eat mainly one meal a day sometimes two. I do not eat a lot of fresh fruits. I need to stop drinking so many soft drinks and I should take out the sugar in my tea. I consumed little to no fresh fruits on a daily basis. I eat a lot of protein, but still not what I should eat daily I only ate around 40% of what I should have. One thing I should do is eat more of the good foods and do less snacking during the day. I am going to make myself a promise to eat at least one fresh fruit a day. I went and bought strawberries and cantaloupe so I can eat a little better. I know this is only a small fix and will only work if I stick to it. I can start to measure my food portions so I do not over eat. This will help me watch the amount of fats and starches that I take in. I love broccoli and could eat more of it, it is full of fiber and nutrients that are good for me.…

The web-based nutrient report that the college student used to record his meals was from MyPlate. “MyPlate is the current nutrition guide published by the United States Department of Agriculture, depicting a place setting with a plate and glass divided into five food groups.[1] It replaced the USDA 's MyPyramid guide on June 2, 2011, ending 19 years of USDA food pyramid diagrams.[2] MyPlate will be displayed on food packaging and used in nutrition education in the United States”("MyPlate," 2011, p. 1). The report basis a calorie count should not exceed 2600 calories for a male who is 43 and exercises at a minimum of 30 minutes daily. The student can determine his dietary reference intake (DRI) sum of each nutrient calculated, enabling him to know when he is over or under his target of 2600 daily calories.…

The results from my three day intake some of the food s in my recorded daily intake that provided protein were bananas, burrito, Popeye’s chicken, pizza hut stuffed crust, whole milk, spitz sunflower seeds, Cheeseburger, chocolate muffin just about everything I ate had protein in it my Carbohydrates were hand and hand with my protein the list was the same as for the lips it was also pretty close to the others my food intake is nothing close to the Dri mine were way above the standard I can improve by cutting out all the fast food its killing me according to DRI and I need to drink a lot more water or foods with more moisture. I eat more complete proteins but really lack the incomplete this is important to know because there needs to be a good balance between the two one shouldn’t be too far away from the other not being this way could cause some serious health issues high cholesterol obesity and even death. I was very surprised by my numbers I received because I’ve never really thought about what I ate until now my carbohydrates protein and lipids intake was almost double what it should be to fix this problem I would have to cut out a lot of fast food and drink plenty more water and let go of some of the snacks I eat and replace them with a fruit or something a lot more healthy than my usually choices.…

Classical conditioning was one form of simple association. Pavlov made it clear during experiments that when a subject is given a stimulus and is then either punished or rewarded, the subject learns to associate the reward or punishment with that particular stimulus. Pavlov used hungry dogs that would begin to salivate when a tone was played. This happened because the dogs were always fed immediately after hearing the tone. This is classical conditioning.…
