Cheerleading Registration Plan
As the 2015 Football and Cheerleading registration approaches quickly, the Thumb Area Football and Cheerleading League is proud to announce it will continue our Online Registration. To apply online will help families, coaches and volunteers pre-register before they come to the assigned registration dates in their chosen community This process will help to save the parents time and paperwork. There will also be payment options that will help families so they can pay via credit card (Mastercard & Visa) at time of online registration or on their communities registration day. Parents may also choose the pay later option by choosing the Pay by Check option so they can pay when they come in to be fitted properly for the football and cheerleading uniforms. The Pay by Check option will allow you to finalize and submit the application so it will show up for your community to view. Once registration is submitted and you are logged out you will then be able to log back in anytime and make payments of any amount, large or small, to your childs registration by credit card online. With the pay by check option you will be able to also bring a check, credit card or cash to the registration event in your community. Please read the 2015 refund procedures under Registration Policies to understand the TAFL refund policy. …show more content…

“Real leadership is leaders recognizing that they serve the people that they lead.” This quote, spoken by Pete Hoekstra, speaks volumes to the true essence of what it means to be a leader. Leadership is all about the people. Many people incorrectly assume that being a leader means that the people you lead are there to serve you. This presumption could not be more inaccurate. Being a leader means serving your teammates and being worthy of their respect and cooperation. I believe that Hoekstra’s quote applies to all forms of leadership- from being a captain of a sports team to being a Lead Scholar.…

I’ve been a competitive cheerleader for the last seven years, and I can’t imagine doing any other sport. I’ve been a part of the Maryland Twisters cheerleading organization for three years, and as soon as I sat in on one of Eye of the Storms, the special needs team, practice I wanted to be a part of the team. After watching Eye of the Storm practice, I was amazed at the hard work and determination the athletes. I wanted to experience the love of cheerleading with these inspiring athletes. As soon as the new cheerleading year started, I spoke with the owner of Maryland Twisters about helping out with their special needs teams, Eye of the Storm and Storm Chasers. I was thrilled when she said the other coaches would love the extra help with the teams.…
