The walt Disney company started in 1923 in Los Angeles, the studio was occupied by Holly-Vermont and later on they moved the studio to Barbank and purchased 51 acres (“Walt Disney studios”). They moved the studio specifically for the purpose of making animated films, and later after the movie Mickey Mouse was “born” in 1928 (“Walt Disney studios”). So that they were able to keep working during bad weather some of the studios were linked together by an underground tunnel …show more content…
(“Walt Disney studios”). Walt Disney studios said that their main purpose is to “Produce a self-Sufficient, state-of-the-art production factory that provided all the essential facilities for the entire production process” (“Walt Disney studios”). The studios were expanded later on in the 1950s to include sound stages and production craft facilities (“Walt Disney studios”). The history of Walt Disney is the reason why people bully.
Bullying has become a major part in society and social media today.
Why do people bully says that “Some Consider bullying to be purposeful attempts to control another person through verbal abuse which can be in a tone of voice or in content such as teasing or threats, exclusion or physical bullying or violence which the victim does not want” (“Bullying Statistics”). Bullying is known to take place in multiple areas and just about everywhere you go but a few places are schools, workplaces, homes, playgrounds, the military, social media etc. (“Bullying statistics”). Some people grow up thinking that violence is an acceptable way of getting what they want, and some people think that they will get more social media recognition for bullying (“Bullying Statistics”). Acting out seems to get noticed better and, jealousy, envy, lack of personal or social skills are also why some people bully (“Bullying Statistics”). Makayla Raleigh may be bullied for loving the sport of
cheerleading.
Some sports and athletes prep for hours upon hours for multiple great performances and games. Makayla Raleigh is a flyer for Cheer Extreme All Stars in Raleigh North Carolina (“Steve Alassy”). Cheer Extreme All Stars has 6 gyms in North carolina and 1 in Virginia, there are more than 900 athletes in the program and 200,000 plus athletes in Competitive cheerleading (“Steve Almassy”). Makayla trains in one of the bigger NC facilities, this gym and teams have 850 national championship titles and counting (“Steve Almassy”). She will write down every workout and practice about what they do, she does this to help herself stay focused and to train hard (“Steve almassy”). her coaches have said that she is “An athlete who watches precisely what she eats but focus on her training and her team mates” (“Steve Almassy”). Makayla Raleigh may know more about the evolution of cheer uniforms because she is a cheerleader.
The first cheerleaders were actually men, so since then obviously a lot has changed. Cheer first began at a prestigious boys only college, at the time it recognized as a pep club (“The evolution of cheerleading uniforms”). Uniforms started out as just matching collared shirts, the most important aspect to cheerleading at the time was the megaphone which helped to get the crowd to cheer in sync (“The evolution of cheerleading uniforms”). More on in the 1940s women started joining more and more at a time, their uniforms were long wool skirts, collared shirts, and cardigans (“The evolution of cheerleading uniforms”). One thing said about cheerleading uniforms was “The 1950s became revolutionary for the cheerleading uniform due to becoming popular on all campuses” (“The evolution of cheerleading uniforms”). The history of cheerleading uniforms may affect why polar bears are listed as threatened.
Polar bears have been apart of the united states for many decades now. John Roach said that “Polar bears were added to the list of threatened species and will receive special protection under united states law” (“John Roach”). Polar bears live in the Arctic, and hunt seals and other fatty marine mammals from sea ice (“John Roach”). The ice in the Arctic is melting and is predicted to keep melting for several more decades (“John Roach”). The new threatened status will not stop oil exploration within its habitat, nor will hunting of Polar bears for food by native people stop, it will continue (“John Roach”). The trade of native handcrafts will continue to happen (“John Roach”).
All five of these topics come into broad groups of entertainment in one way or another. History of Walt Disney studios, the evolution of cheerleading uniforms may be the reason why Makayla Raleigh is being bullied and why Polar Bears are now threatened.
