My business that I am doing my controlled assessment on is called Chic’N’Dona which is a takeaway shop located s Highfields, Leicester. The shop is located near some of its competitors. The advantage of this method is that the people will be informed of what they sell and where there located. Another advantage of leaflets are is that if there bright and hold bold letter it interest you which means you will want to read more information. This method is effective as I spoke to the owner and he told me that a lot of customers have been coming to his shop since posting the leaflets. Plus I did a questionnaire and found out that the majority of people got to know the shop by the leaflet.

It’s used tointeract with customers and shows them that you care, which, in turn, breeds loyalty. This also boosts your reputation. Secondly, the cost for this method is completely free which means they don’t have to spend a penny to attract customers. Thirdly it’s fast to get information to your customer which means customers can see your latest offers online instead of travelling to the shop to see what offers you have. Unfortunately there are some bad points for this type of promotion. The facts that you can tell them some mislead information which means they will get on to the wrong side which means they won’t want to buy from you. Also you need high skilled talent to keep your social media updated (see figure 0.2) The type is quite effective as this business has a lot of people following them and this business constantly replies to their customers, also another reason why this is effective is that it has worked out for their competitors as well which means it will work for them as well.

Groupon is a website is a deal of the day website that features discounted gift certificates usable at local or national companies This method is highly effective as a lot of big business use this method and have had huge success. This method has a lot of advantages here are some of them. Firstly it attracts a lot of consumers. You can reach new customers by appealing to those who are looking for inexpensive deals and a chance to save money. Groupon promotions offer the most assistance for businesses in which the promotion does not cannibalize sales to current customers. Secondly, you don’t have to travel anywhere. This method is travel free which means you save money on petrol. Although there are some advantages there are some disadvantages. The first one is that there could be better deals out there. You can run a similar promotion for less money. There are plenty of marketing programs you can use; such as Facebook. For example, you can offer a discount or promotion on a Facebook page. It's an effective way to engage new and existing customers at a very low
cost.
The second method they could choose is Opening a website. Opening a Website is basically selling off your information on the internet which means people will be able to see where your located, what they sell and many other things on their website. The advantages for this type of method are that it’s far cheaper than print advertising as it’s more flexible because you can change the information from your website faster and won’t cost anything while with print advertising you would have to print another copy and give them out again(see figure 6). A disadvantage for this method is that it might not be reliable. The information on your website might be unreliable if not updated on a regular basis. This method depends on how much money you have and also depends on how many people know about your shop. This has a big impact as everyone does internet shopping and they will then go on your website which means more sales.
The final method they could choose is a focus group which is where you select a couple of people to test your food and give you feedback on what they can improve etc. before you release the actual thing. The advantages of this are that the people will give you knew; ideas which help the product improve. Another advantage is that the results can be easier to understand than complicated statistical data. The disadvantages for this method are that the information that been given by the people might not be believable which means that they might get the wrong information from them which could lead to bad word of mouth which means no one will want to visit that shop which could lead to liquidation. Also it’s expensive compared to surveys and questionnaires, focus groups are much more expensive to carry out.

I personally think this business should promote them through opening website. This method is really good and effective a lot of the businesses competitors have used this and have gained a huge success from this method. One point I didn’t say was that this method is that the website will be 24 7(see figure 5) which means that people will be able to look at info at any time which means people will be able find your shop or find the number to see if your still open which shows its widely accessible. This method depends on how much money you have and also if you have skilled staff or anyone who will control the website. The impact will be immediate as they will have a huge number of people visiting the shop as they are easy to find on the net.
