Chicago Symphony Orchestra By George Solti: Music Analysis
Astonishing is my best words to describe the initial impression of the wonderful piece that Exhibition, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, performed throughout the video. The work of art composed by George Solti was amazing. I found the orchestral sounds far more beautiful, strings much more engaged musically. This piece has its differences in many areas of the song, but it doesn’t compare to other music heard. The piano played throughout the piece was like music to my ears. The Chicago Symphony Orchestra is very well known for its classics, and has been in the music industries for over a decade. When the composer was creating this piece, his intensions were to bring his work to a vivid experience in my point of view. The instrumentation used, and

I have never heard such music as this and watch the players articulate the movements and timing necessary to be able to play such difficult pieces as these. Their sound was like a whole orchestra playing with them but it was only four players. It was a whole new experience for me. These pieces were beautiful but I guess I just didn’t have an ear for the changes in pitch and frequency. It was quite odd but also added to the pieces. I can’t wait to go to other concerts. The atmosphere is unlike any other. This experience unmatched by other concert experiences I’ve…

performance. I love that they use Benny Goodman’s composition to end the whole concert because it really brought the 1920’s big bang jazz’s feeling back to the audience. I think the repertoire for this performance was good because there were a mix of many different styles, such as contemporary pieces, swing, blues, free jazz, and etc. In my…

Although I am beginning to appreciate classical music more, I personally enjoy music with words more than music without words. When songs have words I pay more attention trying to figure what the storyline is behind the song. I am very into music all genres such as, pop, country, rock, reggae, and so on. I am open to listening to anything new, which is why I enjoy going to different music events such as this block party. Overall, I enjoyed this performance very much and I am glad I got to see such a great band perform for free, thanks to Utica College. I wish I could have listened to more but I am glad I got to hear a few musical selections before the event was…

Irving Berlin is one of the most famous American composers and lyricist, having effect on the American Broadway, cinema, and music. He produced seventeen film scores and twenty-one Broadway scores, in addition to writing over three thousand songs. His songs are classics that most people know, some of his most famous songs are God Bless America and White Christmas. He is one of my favorite composers of all time, because he has written both songs, Broadway scores, and film scores that I have listened to since I was a child.…

The item I chose to do was my clarinet as my object and the Cittern as my object from The Met. I have chosen these two objects, because they have a lot in common as they are both musical instruments. The cittern was made roughly in 1685 made by German man, Joachim Tielke. The material used to make this was cypress, ivory, ebony, parchment, and brass. The cittern is 24 ⅞ in by 9 5/16 in. Also, this was made in Hamburg, Germany, so it is a german instrument. This was used to play music during church services and ceremonies such as weddings and funerals. But a lot of aristocrats played this, and then become more popular between the sixteenth and seventeenth century. It is mainly a folk instrument, which why it was then created into what we call…

The viola player tapping the viola with the bow to make a sound like blink blink blink was creative in my eyes. It was interesting to see a beautiful piece played with only three instruments. The song is so beautiful that it sounds like music you would hear in a fairy tale forests. I liked the piece “Soft Watches” by Ileana Perez-Valazquez. It was a creative and fun idea to make the piece based off the painting Salvador Dali’s famous painting “Persistence of Memories”.…

The same tune would get caught in your ear, then it was moving you faster or slower; as well as that tune getting louder or softer at appropriate intervals coinciding with the dramas taking place. I also noticed a few woodwind and harp solos during the brighter, happier moments of the performance. The use of castanets and tambourines also caught my eyes and ears. Of course, there was tremendous use of varying the pitch and tempo as well as how loud or soft the music was. Again this is all to enhance how the emotion was conveyed to the audience. Additionally, a piece that stuck out in my head as I left (mainly because I’ve never really noticed or caught on to it until after learning this in one of our class sections) was toward the end when a solo played for a period of time and then that instrument was joined by all the other instruments—playing the same thing—in consistent pleasing…

At this event, I saw how people including students, parents, faculty, and friends came together from a tired day to listen to smooth classical music. Music has such a mighty effect on people because it is a universal language. People all over the world listen to music, from pop to folk, and enjoy it. Classical music has a way of permeating the heart and relaxing a stressed mind. For example, at the event, one of the pieces the band performed was Autumn Leaves by Joseph Kosma. Their performance of this piece demonstrated the culture and lifestyle of French music during the 1900s. As the wind ensemble played this piece, the atmosphere in the room shifted because of the lively tone the piece had. People began clapping and moving along to the tempo of the song and joy entered the entire lobby. Music not only relaxes a person, but it alters their mood as well. I was so stunned to see how one piece of jazz music could create a change in so many people in an…

Music rings out from the center stage and bounces around the auditorium elegantly as if it were a metaphysical dancer. The symphonic grace entices all of those who are in range to hear it which is why Rod Hoffman sits in the second row of the middle aisle three seats deep from the left side of the orchestra. Completely submerged in the melody he is enveloped by a sort of transcending feeling. Words are rarely able to describe the joy that he feels by attending the concerts of the Colorado Symphony Orchestra. It takes him many weeks to find a means to culminate all of his emotions that he felt from the performance into a review that can properly display not only his reaction but still give an oversight that convinces others to give the orchestra…

I believe that I should be in the Ao Orchestra because my heart is dedicated to music. Every day when I get home from school I put 30-45 minutes into piano practice every day. Musical instruments have always impressed me and have brought a strange joy to my heart. Everyday I strive to improve at least 1 thing about me, whether it be school related, music related and even social related. Piano may be my most played instrument, but I truly enjoy the violin a lot more. The great excitement of becoming an Orchestra member has always thrilled me Through out 1 ¾’s of years experience my love for music has changed drastically. When I was first introduced to the violin, I wanted to skip practice, everything string I played made a displeasing plunk…

The performance started out with the musicians entering the room one by one as they played and opening song, and settling down in their positions. I really enjoyed the movement and the energy they brought with them into the room because it seemed to wake most of the audience up, as some had been waiting for a while. One of my favorite sounds to hear within the music was that of the tuba, which provided the bassline heartbeat. It…

The first song called, “Through the Eyes of Love,” was played from the movie called The Ice Castles. This song started off with the xylophone, and then the guitars and the rest of the instruments sounded in. They started off the song with a very bright tone and middle fast tempo. It had a lot of beats to it and it was very intense at the same time. This song was created by a very lively feeling and gave audiences a little bit information about what kind of music they were going to perform for the next three hours. Also, this song was a great opener because it made the audience (it was only about 15 of us, mostly elderly) get involved in the concert such as clapping their hands and tapping with their feet to feel the rhythm and the tempo. This song for some reason reminded me of being in the club late at night, dancing my life away. This song definitely put my groove on because I could not stop tapping my feet and moving to the beat.…
