Children are the hope and future of a nation. But their future is in danger and the reason is - Child labour. It has been an international concern because it damages, spoils and destroys the future of children. The problem of child labour is a serious matter not only in India but also in other developing countries. The law in Indian soil says that any child below age of 14 cannot be employed either in a factory or office or restaurant. But no one care today also we can see thousands of children working in tea stalls, restaurant, factories etc. But what are reasons that people are putting future into danger. I think they are-
1. Poverty
2. Parental illiteracy
3. Employers prefer children as they constitute cheap labour and they are not able to organize themselves against exploitation.
4. Non-availability of and non-accessibility to schools
Child labour is great social problem and we have to do something to finish it from the roots. We should ensure that we and society around us don’t employ child labour. If you see children working complaint in the police station. Aware the people about the problem of child labours. Government and NGOs should play an important role in fighting with problem child labour. They should organise campaigns to aware people. Government should pass strict law against child labour.
